An absolute gem of a find. We booked for my birthday at the end of last year, loved it so much, went back this last weekend for our anniversary. The quiet location, the lovely food, the friendly staff, all make for a really gorgeous overnight treat. Whilst last time we stayed in the four poster bed room, we opted for the balcony room this time. It was a little tired and in need of some TLC but none the less, it was a lovely stay.

Beautiful place, the staff are great so friendly and helpful. The lady who owns the place is really lovely nothing is a problem for her such hardworking. Mark behind the bar is great so helpful and always willing to help. Beer is great, food is amazing and the rooms are fab so clean and welcoming. Loads of parking and overlooking a fishing lake. Will definitely be back soon.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Couldn’t fault anything! The place is stunning, the put is oldie/homely/rustic fab. Staff absolutely lovely, drinks great such a variety, food so delicious and a great variety. Rooms absolutely beautiful loved it. Comfy bed, warm rooms decorated so beautifully. Breakfast was amazing, menu so chose what we wanted but asked for omelette which was not on menu and was told not a problem and anything else you want our lovely hostess said just let her know. Car park huge, park for children. Lots seating. Will definitely return.

Such a lovely place to stay & perfect for a base to get in & out of Bath centre on the park & ride in Newbridge. Great sleep & best full English breakfast. First night we had dinner & dessert off the menu which was A*. However, after eating in Bath the second night we didn’t want much & had cheesy chips of the starter menu which were top notch. Staff were all really friendly & helpful. All been there for years! Highly recommend & we will go back.

Clean, spacious room with great view and outside space. Very comfortable bed. Rural location but handy for Bath and less than half the price of a hotel room there. Great breakfast with generous portions. Bar noise stopped promptly at 11pm.

I have stayed at the Hunters Rest for 2 nights a fortnight for over a year. The staff are really friendly. My room (contemporary four-poster) was lovely - way cheaper than an average room in a city centre hotel. The food is delicious pub food. It’s in a beautiful location away from the crowds but with a local clientele. Really can’t say anything negative.

My second stay here - Great rooms and excellent food for both dinner and breakfast. Excellent towels. But of a distance to commute to Bristol at rush hour but worth it.

The first sight is exactly as the photo of the Inn, and we walked in to a happy and friendly pub, not rowdy, and collected our keys to our room which was as shown in the website. Generous with tea, coffee and milk, plus a pair of binoculours to look out onto the hill behind. We quickly returned to the bar, with it's original beams and polished copper benches for a drink then a meal. Good value prices, choices and the meals were delicious and huge. I could not finish my meal. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious, generous, using fresh local ingredients. We had a quick wander using the public path opposite to look at the countryside and views but sadly needed to continue our journey. Highly recommend the Hunters Rest Inn and glad that google showed us on maps hotel search.

What a pleasure! Love coming across a diamond in the rough! Friendly and helpful staff, warm and cosy bar/restaurant area, room was amazing, plenty of beverages to keep you busy and a menu that leaves most other hotels for dust (steak and Stilton oggy I believe it was called is really good). And then when you think it can’t get better you wake up and have the best breakfast I’ve had in a hotel in years!
