Emanuel is a really pleasant host, however it wasnt the quietest property, partly because the floors creaked everytime someone was walking and partly because some guests checked in pretty late. Overall a great way to get acquianted with island.

This hotel is clean, quiet, and it operates very smoothly, with a very good mix of guests. Emmanuel does a very good job at serving his guests, he is personable and accommodating. Those who book this hotel should be aware that while it is in a residential area, there are touches of the 'country' in the neighborhood. All together, this hotel is well run, reasonably priced, and a good value.

This place is a family owned home, beautifuly decorated and very comfy. The host was very friendly and helpful and provided me with a lot of useful information. One thing i would recommed to the host is to serve real cheese from the island which is very tasty and more approperiate than instead of using packaged/processed imported cheese. Also adding some eggs options would have been good.

This is an excellent, very reasonably priced choice for Sao Miguel island. I was glad to be in Ribeira Grande, which is quieter and less congested than Ponta Delgada. You can get anywhere on the island fairly easily from here. The property is older and worn in some ways, but I was comfortable. I had no inconveniences with the shared bathrooms. You just have to accept that the Azores in the summer is warm and humid and you are only going to experience air conditioning in your rental car. The hosts are friendly, helpful and willing to give lots of advice on places to go and things to do. Breakfast is excellent and I was extremely grateful that the host even got things ready for me 2 hours early on the day I had an early flight. The property is at the end of a dead end street across from a church and parking was always fine. The wifi was better than I have at my home. Restaurants, shopping and groceries are available less than 2 miles away near the waterfront.
