Lovely rooms, clean and good quality. Lovely little extras like a mini fridge and a coffee maker, which we're both greatly appreciated. Very peaceful and relaxing. Easy access and plenty of parking.

Lovely little place to stay. The gravel in the car park is very loud, Means i didnt need a wake up call though i guess so no complaint. Nesting birds outside our window was a pleasant treat for us.

We would recommend the Carrington Arms – especially at the price of the room, which was extremely reasonable and overall, we enjoyed our stay, with a couple of tiny niggles… Check-in took a wee while, as the reception area was the bar and we had to wait for a few customers to be served before finally being noticed, welcomed and given the key to our room. After a long drive, I was anxious to dump our bags, freshen up and have a nightcap myself. It was worth the wait, though. The room was spacious, clean and bright, with a well-appointed bathroom and good storage. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, although the red light from the TV and a blue light from something else was a little distracting at first. Breakfast was first class and the service friendly and efficient, which swept away any reservations we may have had regarding the delayed check-in and slightly annoying light-show (which we may have been able to do something about if we hadn't been so plumb tuckered.) Anyway, I'm hoping we can find an excuse to go back some time (maybe with sleeping masks).

Very good stop on our way south. Near M1. Modern rooms in little pods near the main pub. No air con but fan provided. Excellent food with good menu choices. No dedicated check in staff so you do have to wait for the bar staff to be free. Very good value for money.

Nice place, would stay again if in area.

In an attempt to avoid travelling in the heat, we arrived very early. The staff were very welcoming and were happy to provide drinks. We decided to stay for lunch and were not disappointed with the food. Steaks being cooked to perfection, with desserts of sticky toffee pudding and brownie being to die for! When we did get to go to our room, we found it more than adequate, very clean and tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge to store our own goodies. There was ample wardrobe space and bedside drawers and a dressing table. Although we did not use them, there was an iron (with board), fan and hairdryer available for use. Every member of staff we interacted with, from the bar/check in to the waiting staff in the restaurant and cleaners/gardeners were all polite and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Even though we were only staying one night, we felt like we were on a great holiday and would definitely come back to stay if in this area again.

Love coming here, evening meals & breakfast are excellent. Staff are friendly and food prices reasonable. Room rates vary a lot by day of the week and how busy they are but there are some great deals through hotels.com on Friday/Saturday nights

This is a lovely place that with a few tweaks could be so much more. The bar very frustratingly shuts at 9.45 and the service can be quite slow. Breakfast is excellent but it again would benefit from being open earlier than the7.30 in the week and 8am at the weekend

Excellent. Peaceful location. Grounds and surroundings are lovely. Rooms are equipped with everything you need and were comfortable and clean. Love the additional outdoor space/picnic benches. Great value.
