A well decorated, comfortable cottage in Hope village and we enjoyed our stay. We had some difficulties with communication initially though that appears down to Hotels.com as opposed to the host. I ended up making contact on an alternative rental platform and from then on the host was quick to respond to my messages. There is no welcome book in the cottage so there was no indication as how to leave the property or where to put recycling etc which would have been helpful. Having both a bath mat and hand soap in each bathroom would also have been useful. There was also no tea bags or instant coffee in the property. I had assumed this was the norm as I have never not had it supplied before, especially given it wasn’t a cheap listing, but that could be solved the following day when the shops were open.

A nice cottage with great decor & nice touches such as hand soap / toilet rolls left. However I could not get hold of the owner before our visit to organise collecting the keys to the property. Upon arrival, I discovered that the only parking was on the street & not allocated so potentially you could have to park a few hundred metres down the road from the property. Over the course of our stay we discovered a dirty oven, cobwebs in some of the kitchen cupboards, the tv in the master bedroom not working & lots of light bulbs not working including all of those in the main bathroom. Such a shame as these details should be picked up during cleaning.

The property was as described and was clean and comfortable and in a good location. Check in was easy. However this is the only property I have EVER stayed in that didnt provide any tea coffee milk etc. Even budget hotels do this. It made the place seem unwelcoming and meant we hsd nothing to drink on arrival after a long journey. The same applies to the minute amount of hand soap provided. Also, a bin bag would have been useful. Parking was ok but was on the street and at a distance...fine for us but not good if you have children and luggage. There was a beer festival at the next door pub which made it very noisy.

The cottage is lovely. There is everything you need there. The 1st floor rooms are lovely. There is a twin downstairs. Lovely powerfull shower. Tv was a pain to get to work. (Like every holiday property, i dont know why). I booked this because i thought it was in a quiet location. Boy was i wrong. The cottage is next door to a pub. And opposite a church. The pub had a band on till 12.00. Then the church bells rang all night. On the hour, 15 past, 30 past, 45 past. There was also alot of traffic noise. If you are a light sleeper like me avoid. I live near an airport and this place was noisier. Saying this we went to the pub the following night and had a blast. Very friendly and great music ( if you cant beat em, join em) My friend didnt have a problem sleeping.

Great house, spotlessly clean and brilliant location for walking and access to pubs and local shops. Bathrooms were good, the downstairs shower is the most powerful shower I've ever been in!! The kitchen had all the basics you need. Only thing we missed was having a freezer (we had to be very brave and have our G&Ts without ice) Owner communication was great throughout our stay and sorted a problem with the heating really quickly. The cottage backs on to one of the local pubs. Our visit coincided with a beer and cider festival so there was a bit of music/noise on the Friday night but was all quiet by midnight and really not a problem. Hoping to go back next year!!

We had a fantastic 4 nights staying here and loved every minute. Clean, cosy and very comfortable with everything we needed provided. Only thing missing was any sort of freezer but no other criticism whatsoever.

Great place to stay to explore Hope Valley. We were staying in the area because our son was competing at Ponds Forge, Sheffield and we wanted a change to staying in Sheffield. Perfect amount of space and facilities in the cottage, drying room was handy for all the swim stuff. What was nice was even though swimming was our reason for the trip we were able to enjoy more, we had a lovely short walk to Castleton and then further afield to Mam Tor. Amazing curry was enjoyed at the Curry Cabin and a few pints in the pub next door.

Lovely little property and well priced for the location, just a little short on a few extras like a dishwasher. Good value foe the money.

Good central location, had to go and buy tea towel and dishcloth, comfortable stay. Chandeliers hang a little low for men in our group. Drying room great to have!

Spacious and comfortable. Everything you need for a group stay including cooking & washing facilities. The two bathrooms was handy. Logs for the wood burner (which you might need) are readily available from local garage. Hotels.com were supposed to send an email with follow up information but this didn’t happen. The two TVs have Netflix you can sign into but regular TV reception virtually non-existent. Slightly more modern TV with iPlayer to get BBC would have been useful because the WiFi in the house is good. For practical reasons you should park across the road like everyone else does. There was always parking space. Plenty of places locally to eat out or get provisions.

Lovely, spacious cottage. Would definitely come back. Would be great if the downstairs shower was fixed, some basic toiletries were provided (hand soap and toilet roll) and there was a spare set of keys.
