The check-in experience started off great — the staff member who assisted us was friendly and explained everything clearly. However, one very important detail was never mentioned: the daily tourist tax. This lack of transparency led to an unnecessary and frustrating situation the next day.
On our second day, a front desk staff member named Shakil approached us and abruptly asked for our room number. We politely answered, but his tone already felt unfriendly. He then insisted that we needed to pay the tourist tax in cash. Since this had never been explained at check-in, I genuinely believed it had already been included or paid, and I calmly said so.
Instead of clarifying the situation professionally, he became aggressive and dismissive, repeatedly saying “no” and refusing to listen. There was no attempt to explain, no patience, and no basic customer service. It felt confrontational and uncomfortable.
We eventually said we would pay later just to end the interaction, but the experience left a very negative impression. I understand this is a lower-rated hotel, but that’s not an excuse for poor communication and rude behavior. Basic courtesy and clear information should be the minimum.
Overall, disappointing customer service that could have easily been avoided with proper communication.
