A nice, comfortable hotel in a quiet neighborhood, easy walking distance to old Dresden on one side and the hip Alaunstrasse district the other way.

Old fashion hotel with modern bathroom. Very quiet. Roomy. We loved it.

The four star Bulow Residenz is one minute walk down the road from the five star Bulow Palais. When we stayed at the Residenz the reception desk was only staffed for some of the day, so when checking out in the morning we had to walk to the Palais. It felt we were rather alone in the Residenz. But the reception member of staff at the Palais was extremely helpful and friendly and he answered all my questions.

The room was excellent - masses of space and very comfortable. Staff very helpful and the area is very convenient. The breakfasts were good but expensive. However, the really negative aspect was the shower room, which was the smallest shower room we have ever seen. When inside, it was quite difficult to open the door!! (This was Room 14)

Bülow Hotel Residenz is well situated in the beautiful residential New Town section of Dresden with numerous fine historic buildings. It is a short, scenic 20 minute walk to the center of town and its attractions. Due to a heat wave, we needed to use the air conditioning, which unfortunately, failed to work. The staff was unable to move us that night from our hot attic room, so a portable AC unit was provided later. The next day, we were switched to a beautifully appointed spacious room with three tall windows on a lower floor; and we were given a complimentary breakfast. Breakfast is served in elegant rooms, as well as a vine covered courtyard. Many selections were offered, and the staff was very attentive. One evening, we ate at the Bistro in the nearby Bülow Palace Hotel; both the food and service were outstanding.

˜The Romantic Hotel Bulow Residenz should be denominated "Tender trap".In bathroom has a shower which is based on a plataform around 1 feet high.As there are no handrails or at least a rubber carpet outside shower box, and the ground polished, the chance of accidents is extremely high in a slippery floor.` ˜That is what happened to me and I had a traumatic partial rupture of the quadriceps tendon becoming handicapped immediately. My girl friend asked for help at Reception and I was driven to an urgency center at University center where a diagnostic report was issued asking a surgery in a 5 days period( I was charged for 386 Euros for the University Public Center). As my health insurance from Portugal was not accepted, I ask the management of the hotel to use its Insurance ,once the accident happen inside the property and was caused by lack of security in the hotel precinct.However, the management has not given and solution and ask me to call its insurance company to treat of the subject(in Deutsch?) personally(sic). The hotel was at least co-responsible for my accident that caused a big knee trauma that will require surgery and physio and 3 to 4 months to full recovery..I have lost my vacation, air tickets( I had to buy new one for me) back to Portugal and after to Brazil to have help and support of may family. In summary:the Romantic Hotel Bulow or "Tender trap Hotel" never gave me any kind of help.I am considering to sue it to pay for moral and matéria damages.

This is a lovely place. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. It was a highlight of our trip. The room was one of the best we've ever stayed in. It was a large room and like the rest of the hotel had wonderful decoration and furnishings. The staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful. The locations was perfect for us. It's between old town and new town on the new town side. We could walk everywhere easily. The breakfast was outstanding. Definitely stay here. We highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing property! Great location, close to everything, very clean and spacious, the staff were honestly the best. Just a perfect experience. We stayed in several places while in Germany and Holland, this was our favorite!

We loved the classic style of Hotel Bulow: high ceilings, spacious room and lots of closet. It is rare to find such old charm even in Europe. The location is wonderful, walking distance to old town to see many interesting sites. Hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. Overall, Hotel Bulow made the most pleasant memories for our trip in Germany.

Our room was on the tops floor & it was huge! A big seating area, large bed & plenty of storage. It has old worlde charm which is the character we particularly prefer so it suited us perfectly. The location in the old town is also perfect not far from the main boulevard of shopping but quiet back street. Plenty of eateries around as well! Can totally recommend. The breakfast service & food was the best we had in Europe, just forgot that we did have to pay for that! It was worth it!

Great Location, great Breakfast, great staff. Nice building with good restaurants in vicinity. I would stay there again. Stayed 3 nights. Good Price/Quality ratio.
