This version is under 1,400 characters: This hotel was not the best place we have stayed. We are generally easygoing travelers and do not expect luxury everywhere we go, but this property is clearly in need of renovation. The rooms and common areas felt dated, and the breakfast was very ordinary and below our expectations. The biggest disappointment, however, was the customer service. After our stay, we realized that we had accidentally left some important belongings at the hotel. We contacted the staff and offered to pay all shipping costs to have the items sent to another address in Italy. Unfortunately, they refused to assist and simply told us that they do not provide this service. As we live in Canada, returning to the hotel to retrieve these items is neither practical nor affordable. We were not asking for a favor, only for reasonable assistance while covering all expenses ourselves. We believe good customer service is demonstrated when problems arise, and in this case the hotel showed little willingness to help. Because of this experience, we left disappointed and unfortunately cannot recommend this property.

We were looking for a nice hotel near the cruise port and really enjoyed our 1 night stay before boarding our Celebrity Mediterranean Cruise. Very friendly and welcoming staff helped us getting our transfer arranged to get to our cruise the next day. Very comfortable accommodation away for the bustle of Cittavecchia. Nice balcony room facing the sea. Originally planned to stay at airport Hilton but happy we had to change plans and stay here. They even had a nice breakfast buffet, especially enjoyed the pastries and expresso coffees.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with even finding me a ride to the train station as there are no taxis in town. The sea view rooms have a stunning view of the waves as well as the pool and restaurant. There were so many great breakfast options to choose from in the mornings. The restaurant dinner menu was varied and the food was great too. I spent two nights there in between cruises and it is only one train stop away from the cruise port or a short drive. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Cavallucio Marino Hotel prior to a cruise leaving out of Port Civittavechia. The train station is a very long distance away and the taxi to/from Civittavechia is 50 Euros. There was nothing to see or do in this area. It might be a good place to stay during the summer.

BAD: Our room was dated, but was trying to mask being “quaint”. Although the room was clean, the shower had significant mold and the towels were not even new-ish. We were excited to hang out on our balcony with sea view but the patio door wouldn’t open. GOOD: Staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful. We were relieved that there was parking in a gated secure lot, especially after seeing a sign saying not to leave valuables in your car “even for a quick coffee”. The breakfast buffet had a great selection, including vegan and gluten free items. It would be nice to have covers on the food however, as the flies were plentiful.
