Great hotel to stay at in Toba. Location is close to the train station as well as other activities including the Mikimoto Pearl Island and the Toba Aquarium. Staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. There was a variety of food at the buffets and delicious. I would recommend this hotel to others.

The location is great for train travelers. All staff are friendly. It has pretty good baths, and few free private baths. We stayed two nights, and would like to use this hotel again in the future.

The place was a much older establishment but was a very nice place. I like the fact the ferry was in walking distance and the train station was also easy accessible as well. I would recommend this place to stay in the Toba area…

I score this hotel in line with expectations - this is an excellent location if you want a day or two savouring a bit of onsen fun and relaxation the way that native Japanese would. Don’t expect up-scale luxury, but certainly I was very impressed that every convenience was provided within the rooms and around the hotel. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The atmosphere is bustling and at times a little boisterous. Particularly the evening buffet was quite ‘energetic’ with a distorting PA loudly announcing all the fresh dishes being set out and fish filleting demonstrations etc.. Dinner time was a sort of event. Plenty of choice at the buffet to eat - I was very satisfied. The hotel itself is large and sometimes bewilderingly complex in layout. I found it very interesting - like a grand bubble-era project, now slightly faded by time, but still full of interest. It took all of our two day visit to find every little interesting corner. ( I liked discovering the private onsen rooms and stretching out in my own private hot spring bath ) Oh, and there are welcome drinks from 3pm till 6 including wine juice and coffee, and when you leave there is a small free bus to the station ( even though the station is only about 300m away. In all - had a great time… just went with the flow and came away smiling.

While the room was spacious and had a great view, we were disappointed to find that it did not come with Western-style beds, which was not clearly mentioned in the booking description. The hotel itself felt quite run-down, and unfortunately, our room was not very comfortable due to a strong urine odor in the bathroom that the staff did not address. Additionally, we were frustrated that our "Do Not Disturb" sign was ignored, and staff entered our room despite it being clearly displayed. The buffet was delicious, but we noticed some preferential treatment toward other guests, which left us feeling somewhat unwelcome as foreign guests. Overall, our stay did not meet our expectations.

Todaya is an excellent ryokan which is located across the street from the train station. A pedistrian overpass walkway connects the train station to the side of the street of the ryokan too. A shuttle bus which runs between the station and ryokan is also very convenient especially if you have a lot of luggage. Of the many onsens available at the ryokan, the main one is open 24 hours which is very rare. The breakfast and dinner buffet had many dishes to select from and all the various food we selected and ate were excellent. My wife and I definitely enjoyed our stay at Toyada.

A 3-5min slow walk from toba station. Nothing much around the area except mikimoto pearl island and toba aquarium. Rate though abit expensive includes dinner and breakfast.dinner is buffet with wide spread of food and drinks. The hotel look abit traditional and you can enjoy the onsen during your stay. There is a shuttle bus to bring you to train station during 8-10.30am. Bed is tatami lay by the staffs while you are out for dinner.
