A truly wonderful guesthouse on a very leafy, almost quiet street. The tram passes by every 10 minutes (the stop is almost next door), but that didn't bother us.
It's not wheelchair accessible!
We booked a suite, meaning we had a nice-sized bedroom with an adjoining living room, also nice and large. The bathroom was adequate with a nice, large shower (not wheelchair accessible).
The mattresses in the bed were a bit too soft for us, and unfortunately, we had forgotten our own pillows. The ones in the guesthouse were very soft (80x80).
Since there are houses directly across the street, it's advisable to close the curtains in the evening, but they don't block out the view from the outside when the light is on inside (there's no window in the bathroom). There are pleated blackout blinds in the bedroom.
It's an old house with its own charm, but with creaky stairs and floors.
The breakfast room is beautifully furnished, and you sit together at the table with other guests, without any seating arrangement. This also makes it easier to strike up a conversation.
The host personally serves you, and the breakfast includes everything you need. Unfortunately, there were "only" pre-baked rolls, even though there's a bakery diagonally across the street. We would have preferred fresh rolls!
The city center is 1.5 km away. There's also a path through the beautiful city park that leads there.
The train is, of course, faster. 😉
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this guesthouse!
We'll definitely book here again on our next visit to Erfurt.
