Good amenities, excellent staff and superb location

The experience was well below standard, and certainly not what we expected from a chain of this reputation. The behavior of the staff was poor — at the reception we were rudely told that check out will have to be at 8am(!). To make things worse, they called us at 7am, waking us up in deep sleep, to say that we have to vacate the room at 8am. At the restaurant, a man called Surya had terrible behavior - first making us wait for no reason, talking to us in what we now took to be customary rude behavior, then serving us cold tea, and then promising to serve warm tea at our table, only to call us to come collect our own tea from him as if he was doing us a massive favor. Safe to say I’ll never be staying at this hotel ever again, even though I’m a regular visitor to Puri. Avoid at all costs - there are many other better alternatives.

The room was full of dead cockroaches and bathroom had a gobble of hair under the sink.

This hotel is ideally situated, away from the crowds and stalls, so you will be able to enjoy the beach in peace. Rooms are spacious and extra roll away beds are provided on request. Staff are SUPER helpful and are always around with a smile on their faces, eager to help. Room service and other services exceptional! The complimentary breakfast is prepared with care and we enjoyed the huge variety of tasty delicacies they prepared every morning. The only drawback are the open shower areas where you are supposed to wash away the sand after a dip in the ocean. They should upgrade and do a better job of cleaning up this area. Also, the majestic view of the bay from the balcony is somewhat dampened by the sight of litter that is dumped along the side walls of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for a family get away.

The location of the hotel opposite to the beach was the best part . Amenities could be upgraded in better condition . Toilet rolls should be provided . Area surrounded needs to be cleaned and organized

Away from the crowds.if you want to enjoy a peaceful stay as well as enjoy the beach without the presence of too much crowd.this is the hotel.the best part is the responsive staff.place a request and it is attended immediately.this is my 3rd visit to Puri with family and my third consecutive stay at Hotel Sonar Bangla. Too good ....keep up the service levels and standards

Just one word, excellent! The staffs were so well groomed and well behaving. The location is so nice. The food quality needs to improve a bit, but still, it's quite good.

I BOOKED ROOM THAT CONTAIN ONE DOUBLE BED AND TWO SINGLE BED, BUT DHEY PROVIDE US TWO DOUBLE BED AND THE SPACE OF ROOM AS SHOWN IN PICTURE THE ROOM IS NOT SPECIOUS AND LIHGT IS NOT SUFICIANT

This is a worst hotel at this price. They supply salty sea water in the room and people are very rude. Think thrice before book this hotel.

The breakfast is not upto standard.There should be more items in breakfast.The wash room is not proper.

Nice hotel close to the beach. Hotel staffs are helpful and friendly. Foods are also good.

great location bang on the beach near lighthouse, moderately clean premium rooms, badly maintained delux rooms, great view from balconey, limited options in food, cleanliness is just ok, nothing great, cooperative stuff
