An event with office friends at a private 4-BR villa with a pool.
We were looking for an outdoorsy atmosphere, not just a luxurious place.
We love the natural ambiance and the setting.
Rooms: In dire need of maintenance. Many of the windows use window blinds, and all of them are broken/problematic. They can't be opened, making the room feel gloomy, dark, and stuffy (tending to be spooky). It's best to replace them with regular curtains so guests can enjoy the atmosphere. Air freshener is needed to reduce the dusty and musty smell.
A thorough cleaning is necessary upon occupancy.
The bathroom also feels gloomy.
Kitchen: Not up to the standard of cleanliness for a multi-million dollar villa. The gas stove smell is quite strong. The kitchen set is dull, the tiles are damaged, and the lighting is poor.
The shelves and cutlery feel dirty and dusty.
Cutlery needs to be washed before use.
Tissues and cleaning supplies need to be requested.
Pools: Too much chlorine. There's only one pool chair and it's dirty.
Breakfast: ONLY fried rice + some mendoan (spicy rice), and the fried rice had no flavor except for garlic.
Staff: Unfriendly from the start, stiff. Upon check-in, you were required to leave your ID card and a 400,000 IDR deposit.
There was only one staff member who was friendly and responsive.
I added an extra bed, but they charged me directly via WhatsApp. Isn't it possible to pay at check-out, and it's possible to pay by phone? So why not just charge me at check-out?
Nice place, nice location, strong setting, and well-designed.
But urgent improvements in service, cleanliness, and staff friendliness are needed.
