3rd stay, always impeccable.

Room was incredibly noisy due to demonstration and proximity to noisy street and when asked for a diff room they said they didn’t have the “same category” room available so would need to charge me $100 extra ! I went to look at room. It’s was maybe a TINY bit larger but not really noticeable and there was no “garden view”. When I queried that point they said there is a tiny green patch in the area, but admitted that this was not visible from the room. Offered to discount down to $70 but still ridiculous. It was 5:30pm when we got there(room was not ready at 4 like it was supposed to be) and they said they still might be able to sell the room for that night for more $$ so could not do complementary. Additionally - the 4 “panels” of black out blinds did nothing to block the sun. What a useless design/decor.

Rooms need upgrading. Room service was expensive but food was undercooked. Staff were wonderful and the location is fantastic. Lots of shouting on our floor including an argument in the room adjacent before 8am. View was facing an office building so we had to keep the curtains closed. Shower door didn’t close properly and the privacy screen between the beds and shower didn’t stay closed properly.

Birks is an incredible hotel in the middle of Montreal. The hotel is elegant and quiet, and you are within walking distance to so much. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a hotel downtown.

We ate breakfast in the dining room and asked the waitress to cook our omelette so it’s done and it was runny and no dressing on the salad. Not worth the price we paid for it

Poor maintainance. Black out blind was broken, discovered after midnight. Choice was to.request to move to another room Or have some maintaince person fix the blind at 1 am. The rod to move the blind was missing so this was known to the hotel maid or maintenance at the very least. Stay elsewhere !

Location is great. Hotel staff and cleanliness was also great. Not really eco friendly as amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, lotions and bath salts are all individually packaged rather than in larger refillable dispenser bottles. No mini bar items available in the room. Hand held Shower is too heavy and doesn't hold in the holder. Curtains in the suites do not shield the room from light and the windows must be paper thin as you can hear all the noises from the streets. Fireplace was wonderful. Overall, it was a great stay.
