Thank God, after a four-day family vacation in Balikpapan, the Gran Senyiur Hotel is our top choice. It's close to everything, especially the mosque. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The swimming pool is always a delight for the kids. Thank you.

It's actually quite good, especially in terms of location, especially since it's in the middle of town. Unfortunately, after staying for two days, the water went out on the second day, and I couldn't use the bathroom until I checked out.

The hotel is pretty "okay" for those who want to stay overnight without leaving. The rooms are spacious, so you can lie down on the floor if you get bored in bed. Pros: Lightning-fast check-in and check-out, spacious rooms, friendly staff. The first time I checked in, I was given an unsuitable room. But after discussing it, I was offered an upgrade. Cons: - I joined the end-of-year party with a BBQ package, but there was no BBQ at all. That's fine, because it rained on New Year's Eve. But the BBQ can be moved, you know? But this wasn't the case. The BBQ that was originally provided was immediately pulled back in when it rained. - The water was out from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on January 1, 2026. The reason was that the water pump was broken. Being without water for over 12 hours was unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. - When I first contacted them in the morning, they simply explained that the water was out and being fixed. There was no solution. In the afternoon, when I protested quite loudly, they only gave me one gallon jug. Just a gallon. No bucket or dipper. It was confusing whether this gallon was for drinking water or for urinating/defecation. - Breakfast was standard. Not much variety. It made me unexcited about breakfast on the second day because the menu was the same. Overall: - The staff was okay. But the facilities need upgrading. It's pointless having friendly, kind, and helpful staff if the facilities are below average. - Breakfast was still okay, although I was a little disappointed that there was no difference between a 4-star and a 2-star hotel. PS: This isn't a problem with the hotel's vintage concept. Vintage is okay, and it can be a unique attraction. But it's not because the vintage concept means other facilities are neglected and lack upgrades.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, everything was great except the food, perhaps it would be better if there was more variety, the menu is always different every day and the taste is improved. The Wi-Fi is also very slow, I had to use my own Wi-Fi, hopefully on my next visit the Wi-Fi and food can be improved. Thank you Grand Senyiur
