When this hotel first opened, room service included bottled water and an iron. Now, since it's been operated by Horison, rooms are now equipped with dispensers in the hallways. I also stayed here before and asked the receptionist to replace the carpet in the hallways on each floor, especially since there was a hole in the middle. When I was in my room (my most recent stay was room 604), the AC took a long time to cool down, taking over half an hour. Perhaps the General Manager should check the condition of each room individually and then take action to improve the hospitality experience. My suggestion is to create Instagrammable Minangkabau-themed photo spots in the lobby or in some open spaces that guests can share on social media. This will give this hotel a unique and truly ethnic feel, embracing the Padang spirit, a staple of West Sumatra tourism. If I may suggest another, make the entrance more open and spacious. As soon as you enter, the hotel is incredibly cramped. I think it's up to the exterior design experts to create a welcome area that instantly makes people fall in love. Beyond that, this is a great hotel in a great location if it's well-maintained. Hopefully, the Horison team, with their extensive experience in many hotels, can make Balairung one of the best in the Horison group. Moreover, I heard that Horison will be in Payakumbuh with the Rajawali group; surely a "marriage" will be a path to progress. This hotel is highly recommended for its price. It's clean, has spacious rooms, and has friendly staff. Just be aware that the hot water isn't hot. That's the only downside.

Stayed the first day, ordered from another app, stayed the second night, ordered through the app, called several times to ask for room amenities but still not given. The housekeeping team's service was very bad, the AC was not cold, the bathroom was incredibly hot and stuffy, the sofa was already looking dirty and needed to be replaced or cleaned. But for those who helped carry things, they were kind and willing to help, thank you, sir. Didn't try the breakfast because I didn't have time.

Every time we visit Jakarta, we always stay at the Balairung Hotel because it's easily accessible and the staff is friendly. We booked a deluxe king room and were given a suite upon check-in. Thank you to the lady at the front desk... (I was initially happy, and the room was upgraded.) But... So, here's a brief review of our recent stay at Balairung: 1. All the hotel staff were friendly. 2. The food in the restaurant was perfect for us. At breakfast on the first day, the yeast smell on the white bread was so strong and sour that we didn't dare eat it. On the second day, the menu wasn't very varied. 3. The room wasn't very clean: there was a lot of dust on the display shelves and stains on the mirror. I immediately wiped it with a tissue, but the tissue immediately turned black from the thick dust. 4. The bathroom was dirty: the toilet seat was yellow from the buildup of limescale that hadn't been cleaned in a while. It's probably best to replace it, as it's already dirty. The shower floor was slippery, and the shower faucet leaked, constantly dripping wet. 5. On the second morning (at 7:45 a.m.), we left the room and asked the front desk to clean it so we could shower and clean up when we returned. However, when we returned at 2:00 p.m., the room hadn't been cleaned. The receptionist's phone didn't work. Hotel staff finally came to clean the room at 3:00 p.m., and we waited for over an hour. 6. The hot water in the bathroom wasn't available 24/7, and the water temperature wasn't hot, just warm. I hope the management pays more attention to the cleanliness of the hotel's bedrooms and bathrooms (especially the toilets).

Satisfying because the atmosphere is calm, the staff serving are friendly, and the environment outside the hotel is busy.

It's been my 3rd time staying at this hotel and it's always comfortable even though it looks like an old hotel. For Deluxe: spacious room, carpeted, soundproof, spacious bathroom + bathtub, but the price is very affordable. Maybe with the same room specifications, you can get 2x the price at other hotels. Breakfast is always delicious, of course, this hotel is Minang style, so it never fails in terms of culinary. Only the 3rd time Minus the AC is not cold enough, not like before. Please pay attention to its maintenance.
