If you're in Batu Karas, try staying at Ermajas; you'll be hooked. It's incredibly homey, the staff are friendly, and it's not too far from the beach, yet feels peaceful. If you love ethnic places, you'll love this place.

Thank God, this was my first time staying in Batukaras, and choosing The Ermajas was the perfect choice. Its location, slightly tucked away in the village, creates a comfortable, quiet atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is far from spooky, and it feels cooler thanks to the many plants. We stayed in a Heritage Room. The room was spacious, with cool air conditioning. There was no TV, and the Wi-Fi didn't reach the bedroom. Telkomsel and Indosat signals were weak, so it was better to stay by the window or on the terrace. The toilet was clean, but the shower wasn't strong enough; a booster pump would be recommended. I didn't try the hot water. Oh yeah, there's only one trash can in the toilet, and there's no trash can in the fairly spacious room. Thank God, breakfast was delicious and sufficient. The Ermajas is a simple, comfortable hotel, perfect for those who like peace and quiet and a true break from the hustle and bustle of the real world and the virtual world.

Enjoyed a stay with a village atmosphere. The room was a bit dark, but not spooky. All the staff were friendly and pleasant.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful... Definitely come back again... But please, for the Jinaman room type, it seems like it needs to be renovated because the floor of the room is damaged and the roof is prone to lizard and termite droppings... Overall, everything is okay.

I chose the Java Old House room type, as soon as I entered the room it smelled good, the place was very serene, it felt like living in the past, a stilt house with unique wooden furniture, there was a beautiful yard with lots of trees, making me feel at home, it felt lacking if I stayed for just 1 day, maybe next time I will choose The Ermajas Pavilion again. Thank you for the very satisfying service, complete breakfast with fruit and juice, there were fried bananas & bala-bala too, it was really delicious, Pa.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are vintage and cool, but because it's an old house there's termite dust falling on the floor, but overall I recommend staying here!

The price of the room is not comparable to the size of the room given because it is too small. The bathroom door is difficult to open because it is blocked by the bed because the room is so narrow. But the bathroom is good, that's all. Almost sad because the room is so narrow with such an expensive price, but fortunately almost all the staff are friendly

The atmosphere is calm and quiet, perfect for those who want a vacation without noise. The room is comfortable and clean, there is a jacuzzi, the service is friendly, the breakfast is delicious, especially the fried bananas, wow 💓 I think I will come back to stay here next time! Note: hopefully the rotten wood will be repaired soon to improve the comfort of visitors and hopefully there can be bicycle rentals. 🥰

Incredible place! Staying in The Ermaja's was a very dreamful also exciting stay. An unbelievable place sharing both European and traditional culture. A maximalist hotel where everything is perfectly designed and well placed. Some of the goods are legit ancient existing almost a century ago. I would rate a 5 star hidden petite hotel, unfortunately the service was not thoroughly what I expected. When evening comes and you need something, it's hard to find a single person that works there because no one really stands by in the reception. So you need to wait until the next day and morning comes so you could tell them what you need. Also AC's kind of chill but not really working, it would be a whole lot better if it's more cold noticing how hot Batu Karas is. And a bit of suggestion to hire someone as a receptionist that stands by 24 hours so if the guests needs anything, it's easier for us.

Mr. Yanto (hotel staff) was very friendly and helped us with all our needs during our stay at Ermajas. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Wifi is very good. The hotel interior is very unique.
