Fabulous B&B…traditional pub with great rooms with modern showers. Dinner used local ingredients and was very tasty and generous portion size. Breakfast had nice thick bacon, local sausage and all the usual black pudding, mushroom, tomato, beans and hash browns. Would thoroughly recommend

Breakfast was very good and there was lots of choice. We ate at The Wheatsheaf on the second evening; the place was full and the service prompt. It wouldn't be a good place to stay if you're not good on stairs as the accommodation is on the second floor, but staff took our cases up for us and a fellow customer carried them down, so we were very grateful. The room was clean and spacious and the carpark was just across the road so it was a very nice stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. All of the staff made us feel very welcome and the food was excellent. Our room was spacious and clean and the view over the churchyard was delightful. We've booked for a return visit soon.

We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. Although warned about the frequent bell ringing, it did not disturb us in any way. Nice, white towels were provided in the shower room. Lucy and her team couldn't have been more welcoming, efficient, and helpful. It was convenient to be able to enjoy our evening meal in this very popular, old village inn, full of character, and breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. We would certainly stay here again. The only negative for some, might be the lack of a lift, but staff will happily carry your bag upstairs for you. Oh, and there is a free car park opposite for guests.

An excellent area to visit. Do your research before you go although they do offer lots of information. The included breakfast is very good. Dog friendly for sure with only a ten pound extra for each dog , can't complain about that. Definitely worth going back.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel, which perfectly blends historic character with modern comfort. The traditional architecture adds a unique charm, while the updated bathrooms provide a touch of luxury. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming which gave it a home from home feel and the food was outstanding. A perfect choice for anyone looking for a mix of tradition, comfort and a relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed for two nights with our dogs. We absolutely loved our stay. Rooms super comfortable and staff so attentive. Breakfast was incredible. We ate lunch and two evening meals as the bar and restaurant was so good it wasn’t worth trying anywhere else. Would definitely recommend and return.

Our room on the top floor was characterful and had everything we needed, a couple of negatives however were the bathroom window which had no blind or curtain and which wouldn't close. The staff who checked us in on Friday morning and who served a delicious breakfast on Saturday, were friendly and helpful. A slight disappointment was my meal of fish, chips and mushy peas. The peas were cold and the batter on the fish was undercooked. My husband had the burger which he really enjoyed. Another downside for me was the bar area which didn’t provide any comfortable seating areas to sit and relax after your meal.

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf to be within 10 mins drive of the RSPB Leighton Moss reserve. The room was quirky, bare floorboards and steps up to the bed because it's quite high off the floor! The food was excellent and not expensive and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.. Very happy to recommend this place and we'll definitely be staying again.
