Right in the central alora! The room needs little tlc and they need to be sure about where we can park and where we can’t that would help the guests

This hostal is in the city center, the staff was amazing, the facilities are very clean and maintained. The room had a small fridge and air conditioner and the room and bathroom were spotless! The only downside was parking, however there’s a public parking lot about a quarter a mile away.

An excellent stay at the Hostal Duran. The place is clean and well manged by the lovely owners and staff. The Hostal is centrally located with good public transport links, the bus stop for the Caminito del Rey is only a hundred metres away and the train station is around 15 minutes walk or a bus from the same above stop, all restaurants and bars are on your doorstep. A recommendation, choose a room with a panoramic view (Terrace), the views to the castle are wonderful.

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the view of the castle from our balcony. The mattress could have been more comfortable.

Alora is a bustling little town nestled on a hill and the room I had overlooked the old Moorish fort on the adjoining hill. Beautiful ! The hotel was basic but spotlessly clean and the owners Paco and Monica were lovely. And great value for the single traveller

A brilliant stay at the Hostal Duran. The accommodation is basic but spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning was great on the very hot nights. The rooms are serviced, towels replaced etc. The Hostal is just off the centre of town, easy access to bars and restaurants, of which there are plenty of good ones in Alora. A very good base if you intend on doing the Caminito del Rey (Direct bus 100 metres from the Hostal) or any other of the great hikes in the area.

The property is hosted by a friendly family. The check in and communication were easy. The rooms were very basic but clean and comfortable. The views were lovely from our room. Our friends had a bathroom with a plumbing issue and it was smelly.

The property was lovely blended in with the surroundings. Had a real Spanish feel about it not modern or false. The furniture and decor was orriginal. Simple room but adequate for my overnight stay. Comfy bed and plenty of hot water in the bath/shower combo. Great balcony had a superb view overlooking the castle an the mountains in the.background. Staff were friendly an helpful. Close to the town square and thd bars an shops Only downside perhaps a kettle in the room to make a coffee or tea. Some people would prefer more amenities but for me it was perfect. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a break living among the local people, proper Spanish. Alora is a lovely town and will definitely be back and stay at hostel Duran.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - and my room had an excellent view! See pictures! I felt very safe, travelling alone. My room had a fridge and a great powerful shower! Very comfortable bed and towels provided. The location is in the old part of town, on a a beautiful street - perfect for exploring. Thankyou Hostal Duran!

Second visit to the Hostal Duran this year and as good as the first time. Anyone looking for basic, clean accommodation can't go wrong with the Hostal Duran. The Centre of town is minutes away with an excellent choice of bars and restaurants. It's also an ideal place to stay if you plan on walking the "El Caminito del Rey", the train station station is around 10 mins walk from the Hostal where you can take the now more frequent trains to El Chorro thanks to Renfe adding extra trains.

Had a fantastic stay at the Hostel Duran. Lovely place in the heart of the old town, bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. We had beautiful views from our terrace to the castle, I suggest booking a room with a balcony/terrace. Rooms are basic (it's a Hostel) but clean, spacious and beds very comfortable. The room was also cleaned daily, the whole property is spotlessly clean. Can't wait to return.
