Great location. But the Berkeley is more of a hostel than a hotel. The room was dilapidated, pretty much everything was very old, peeling and stained. From bathroom, to door locks, to mattress. They seriously need to invest in some renovation. Staff was polite but then again, I never tested it them with a challenging situation as my room was pre-paid so all they had to do was give me the key. Will never stay again

Location was great near all the shops on baker street and lot of food options. The hotel mattress was stained had a hole in it and a cigarette burn. The bathroom needed a good deep clean. For the location and price we dealt with it for the 3 nights, we flipped the mattress to a cleaner side. You need to pay for tea and coffee making facilities (£5 I think) and for room cleaning it was £10, and no WiFi.

I was only staying one night and arrive late and left reasonably early so (I thought) I wasn’t that bothered. I just wanted somewhere cheap but literally what a hole. Disgusting floors, bedding, bathroom, damp smelling room. Below one star. Arguably was super cheap and super well located but I can’t figure out why you wouldn’t renovate this place in charge 2.5 X per room.

This building is in serious disrepair and needs to be completely gutted and rebuilt. The mould/mildew smell was so overwhelming I had to keep the window open and from a health perspective this isn’t good. Staff were lovely and must have a hard time dealing with complaints so I feel for them. My advice is do not stay here

The location is perfect and with the price we paid we knew we our expectations had to be realistic. However the building is requiring a revamp and the smell of mould was troublesome in the bathroom. The staff were helpful in creating a solution. I was surprised to see no matress protecter on the bed and only a small duvet on a double bed but the room was hot so it wasnt required anyway. There is no lift so be aware of needing to walk flights of stairs if you have heavy luggage. The tread is very narrow as is normal in london so perhaps the plastic covering over the carpet on the staircase might be to provide grip and prevent injury. This place could be amazing due to its top location if a refurbishment was done, it is worrying to see damaged ceilings and walls and significant sloping floors.

Don't stay here. Ever. The place is a dive, and the staff incompetent. Worse still they tried to charge me to leave my bags there while they made up the room!

I do not often give reviews, but I think on this occasion it is necessary; I stay on lots of hotels with my work across London, but this must be the worst in every way I have encountered. I checked in and was on my way up 2 flights of stairs with my case when the lady shouts me back as the room was not available !!! off I went to the family room in the basement, the room was like a prison, metal beds, bars on the windows, seen better days, nowhere to hang clothes, no tea or coffee making facilities, bathroom not nice, didn’t dare get in the shower; within around 15 minutes I hear banging outside my door, as I open the door I fall over lots of toilet rolls packages, as I look up there is this lady throwing down another large set of toilet rolls down the stairs just missing me, crazy and unsafe. At 8.30 this lady knock, knock, knocking on my door,, emergency she shouts, hence I open the door and she informs me she needs the quilt and pillow off the spare bed for the room next door, I tell her to wait, I will get it ,,,when she barges in my room, uninvited, she is very lucky I did not throw her out, unbelievable, no manners, no respect. Stay here at your own peril, I will not be going near this place every again.

The worst experiment stays I’ve ever had! I really hated London because of this garbage hotel! The room was like prison cell، it was very small. No wardrobe! No clothes iron No personal hygiene! The window with no lock and the door making noise when you open or close and also the bed making noise 😅. No service room every day. The stuff asked me to write a good review for him!! What a cold face!!!!. I don’t know how they in expedia app! If there are negative stars I will give them -100 stars

The room was in a disgusting and unhygienic state, with visible mould, filth, and what appeared to be bacterial growth These are not minor cleanliness issues, but serious health and safety concerns. I was forced to leave the room after just six hours due to the clear risk to my health, and I had no choice but to find alternative accommodation at my own cost
