One of the most amazing hotel stays. From check in to check out everything was top-tier. It was extremely comfortable clean. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was very supportive.

What an excellent little hotel. The staff was amazing. Very kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the pool was a quiet oasis. It’s just far enough off the main area to be a little quieter but so close that it’s convenient to get anywhere you want.

Comfortable room and beds. Small, but refreshing rooftop pool. Lovely breakfast. Well located. Friendly and helpful staff.

It doesn't look like as in the pictures, it s much older ans show it s age. The roof top and the breakfast room are definitively in the need of an urgent refresh. But the WORSE is the presence of a huge colony of Pigeon Birds in the hotel. They are living in front of the rooms, in what used probably to be a vegetal wall. Nowadays it is a pigeon n'est, a huge one with all the inconvénients it brings along: Noise, and probably the most unpleasant, their personal waste. Unless you like these awful dirty street birds, it is an awful view. At the meantime, you can share this view ( Waste included ) at the breakfast room, while having your breakfast. This is unbearable and overall it gives a terrible feeling...that this place is poorly maintained and dirty.

This was a lovely place that felt very private. The staff were amazing, setting up transportation for us, and recommending amazing restaurants. The rooftop bar, pool, and hot tub were just wonderful.

Very good and convenient hotel. It's very clean and easy walking to all interested places. I will go back there again.

This is a newer property and I've not seen it before on Expedia. The hotel is about a block from the beach and two or three blocks from the main restaurant areas. Room was adequate, pool was really cold which is unusual but the breakfast is really a standout for hotel food. I'd definitely recommend this hotel

Everything is clean and on point. Warm shower, Netflix ready tv, free water bottles and a mini fridge. Sure, maybe unnecessary luxuries for some, but it’s nice if you can get a good deal. Pool and jacuzzi are in excellent condition and always clean. Staff is also really nice.

Really cozy place, perfect location close to the marina and beach.

Check in with Eric was quick, a very friendly man. Breakfast was great, pool was refreshing. Rooms were ok, bed was comfortable, shower and bathroom were small and dated, but clean

I truly enjoyed my stay at Alko Cotona. The bed was suuuuper comfortable, the room immaculately clean, location is perfect (right by main drag for eating and drinking as well as only a few minutes from the beach!) — rooftop pool and restaurant/bar also great, with a view of the ocean/marina on one side and the mountains on the other. Most importantly, the quality of service and hospitality at Alko Cotona hotel is truly outstanding. Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to make everything perfect for me — Damaris at the bar/restaurant, Oscar at reception, and particularly Carlos, who was the shining star of my stay. Carlos helped me arrange everything I needed and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. He helped me arrange buses, taxis, and even checked with my hotel in Cartagena to make sure my booking there was in order. With his helpful attitude and impressive command of English, he is truly an asset to this entire operation. I am so grateful and highly recommend this hotel! Thank you, Carlos!!

All was good. Bed, pillows etc a bit uncomfy - but service, gym, etc works well.

Room was clean and good AC. Nice pool and jakoozi on roof-top although jakoozi was not heated. Nice hotel in heart of historic distric.

The hotel was great however the staff was completely useless when it came to recomendations (restaurants, plans)...... we had to do all the research and booking of activities. The travel agency that they recomended PALMA, never helped us with anything. The hotel said that the activities could be booked w one day in advanced, we booked them three days prior but when we called the agency to confirm the day of there was no reservation for us. The hotel staff and agency never pretended like they had no idea what was happening.

This hotel may appear ok from photos but in real life it is a very poorly run, unclean hotel on possibly the most dangerous road in Santa Marta. There was one staff member for the entire duration of our stay and they did not speak any english. There was hair in the shower, unclean towels and just a general sense of lack of cleanliness. Avoid.

Excellent location and very helpful, friendly staff

This beautiful hotel is modern, clean and very tastefully decorated. The food was delicious and the jacuzzi and pool were fantastic. The features such as the air conditioning, TV and elevator are state of the art. The hotel uses L'Occitane products in the bathroom which gorgeous. Overall I thought this hotel was wonderful. The only fault I have is I had emailed the property to explain it was our anniversary and they emailed back to say they would make it really special. When we checked into the hotel, the receptionist said the booking had been cancelled. After I logged onto WiFi, I showed the booking and check in resumed. Our room wasn't ready so we had food while it was prepared. I think we could have been offered a coffee or something while we waited. Otherwise, the stay was lovely, luxurious hotel and I would stay here again.

The property has everything that is needed. The breakfast was limited in quantity. There was a confusion at check in about the amount that should be charged for the room.
