Not fancy, but reasonably priced. Restaurants were in walking distance. The building is old, but we really liked our stay.

The room was dirty. Every morning before 6am gardening was done. Banging crashing watering pots. Rooms were being cleaned furniture moved banging and crashing. Maids literally speaker outside our door before 7 am. The breakfast was exactly the same every day

Poor maintenance. Sink was leaking in the bathroom. Seems there was black mold in the “computer area”, which had no computer but had an old TV. Not sure why it’s a 3 star. Although if you want something cheap and well centred in the historical area, then this is for you.

Hotel Palmas del Sol is my favorite in/near the historical center. There are many things I like to do around there, exchanging money, going to the barber, the gym is almost nearby I have some social connections in the area. Otherwise I wouln't go to this area again. The breakfast is good, I like the staff. And the value for the money is a really good deal.

Pleasant and helpful staff. The room was basic, but had air conditioning, a mini refrigerator and a good supply of hot water for the shower. The hotel is situated walking distance from the tourist spots in Centro: the train station, Cultural Centre, Lopez Palace and Independence House. Though not a lot of dining options in the immediate vicinity, a bit of a walk will take you to areas with plenty of selection. I would definitely stay here in future. One note: If booking through Expedia, the check in remarks say that check in closes at midnight. Staff told me that the front desk operates 24 hours per day, so the notation in Expedia is not correct.

A nice place. The rooms are good size, but could use a little work in spots. Not much hot water pressure. They have their own secure parking garage across the street. Early flight so couldn't try the breakfast.

The hotel needs update, bath towels were torn, air conditioner was really noisy all day long. That said, hotel staff were friendly.

Well, stuff doesn't speak english, but place is pretty good. They served great food brekafast from 6 to 10. All was amazingly delightfull. Furniture is pretty old but livable. And they have amazing green little forest inside hotel. I just love it. There are singing birds and everything. Also near hotel are plenty of restaurants. I'm glad and pleased.

Juan at reception speaks good English and organized my visit to a football game. Good breakfast, walk to supermarket and not too far to walk to the city. Cleaner always there soon after 9am to service the room. There was a large a/c adjacent to my room and it disrupted my sleeping.

Terrible hotel situated in the mist dangerous part of the city. The bed sheets smell like an ash tray. I stayed one night and booked out the very next day. AVOID if possible!!

The staff was very nice (and there were a surprising number of them). The courtyard is beautiful and the pool is so so. I liked the bed (firm) but the pillows were pretty bad like someone had cut up a foam mattress into pieces and stuffed them in a cotton sack. We stayed for 4 nights, which is way too long in Asuncion...not much to do. However, the WiFi was really good and we were able to get some work done. Also, the breakfast is decent and you can get a buffet dinner in the hotel for very cheap. The worst thing about the hotel is that there was some sort of party on our third night...maybe a bachelor or bachelorette party? Where were young women and men...but the party didn't start until about 3:30am, when they raucously and apologetically blasted music and drank in the common space (and RIGHT outside our room) until 9:00am. Obviously they woke us up and they refused to be quiet when asked. I said something to the desk clerk and he indicated that he had control over it...? I felt terrible for the cleaning staff because the entire place was trashed by the time we went to breakfast and they were cleaning it up (while the party was still going on BTW). If you're concerned about safety at all, don't be. There is an armed guard outside.
