Beautiful property, wonderful staff. Location wise it feels like you’re isolated and away from everything. But if you’re staying for a couple of nights there is enough restaurants and food options but if you want to explore beyond the hotel you’ll have to go out of your way to see Mauritius otherwise your only experience of Mauritius might be of the hotel (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). The beach was nice, the seafood was great and there were lots of water activities. Take advantage of the glass bottom boat tour (complimentary for guests) that leaves at 10am and 2pm or charter a speed boat excursion to another beach with festive vibes. At night it’s generally quiet but there was a bon fire near the edge of the property. If you plan on making it a boozy vacation go for the All Inclusive it balances out in the end.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional service—especially thanks to the charming Matthieu, who greeted us so politely and made us feel at home right away. Nestled at the foot of a breathtaking Le Morne, the hotel offered stunning scenery from sunrise to sunset, with views stretching from the sea to the jungle. We’d also love to extend a special thanks to Vyshee, who gave us a wonderful tour of the hotel and was incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. Her joyful and loving spirit truly made a lasting impression. The design of the hotel blends perfectly with nature, with open spaces that make you feel like you’re in the heart of the outdoors—yet with the added comfort of the kindest and most attentive staff always ready to help. We stayed on half-board and thoroughly enjoyed every single breakfast and dinner. The cuisine was rich in variety and quality—the hotel buffet stands out as one of the best we’ve ever experienced. The hotels beach was simply beautiful. Just like a scene from a travel magazine, and even more magical in real life. We also appreciated the wide range of activities, from yoga and themed dinners to a private dolphin trip, which was a truly special experience. Thank you all for making our stay so remarkable.

Beautiful report. Stunning backdrop with mountain in background as you’re by the pool or beach. Everything was almost perfect. The almost is the service.. although it’s done with a smile and very warm.. it was a bit slow. We sometimes had to repeat orders. So 9/10. Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful room and location. Lovely spa experience. Enjoyed the different flavoured water options on the beach. I didn’t enjoy the food I thought it was very average and not fresh. The staff were nice. I would say this hotel is 3-4 stars definitely not 5 star experience.

The property is stunning. However, more training is needed for the staff. Ordered food from one of the pool bars and after an hour, my food never arrived. The remote in my room didnt work, i requested service, it never came. I asked for menus to the restaurants to determine where to go for dinner and no one could get this information for me. So, with some training, this has the potential to be a 5 star resort

We spent several nights at Lux following 4 nights at a neighbouring hotel as part of our honeymoon. The service was what really let it down the most unfortunately, especially in direct comparison to the other hotel we stayed in, which was exceptional. I was surprised that this is a 5* hotel as the standard of service is more in line with a 4*. At breakfast the staff seem quite hurried and stressed and the wait for a coffee/ hot beverage can take as long as 20-25 mins. In general the staff are not as attentive as they should be and it can take up to 10-15 mins to get served when sat at the bars or on sun loungers. They seem to have quite a few inexperienced staff who are not confident in waiting tables or serving. The Wi-Fi at the hotel is very poor and intermittent, which can get quite frustrating. We were not pre warned about the insect fogging which happens every evening and consists of a very loud machine which pumps plumes of very potent white smoke and chemicals around the buildings. If you are outside enjoying the facilities when this happens you are often caught up in the smoke, which is really unpleasant. On two occasions our room wasn’t cleaned until 5pm, which was quite inconvenient when we needed to use it. There were quite a few issues with smoke/ fire alarms going off in the bars and restaurants, on one occasion the alarm went off 4 times in 10 minutes when we were having drinks. On the last day of our stay the water in our rooms stopped working.

Five star location, nice rooms and good food. Unfortunately service was incredibly bad for a five star hotel. We were without sun beds on a couple of occasions if you are late on arrival at the beach. Your wine was served when dinner is almost over and overall hectic mood from the staff.

Beyond Underwhelming. From disorganisation during check in to poor upkeep of hotel and below average quality of food Lux* Le Morne fails to deliver a luxury experience worthy of the overall setting and price point. As with all Lux* properties there is a lack of ambience and a massive training gap resulting in consistently poor service and lack of interest on behalf of staff to accommodate guests.

Absolutely one of the ultimate experiences in my life. Witn Le Mourne mountain as backdrop trough out your stay and round the corner access to hiking trail to scale Le Mourne with breathtaking views. Swim to bar with the nicest and coolest bar staff imaginable An absolute must do. All eating facilities simplify outstanding.
