Excellent location! I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the city with so many historical things to see and do in the area. And the hotel courtyard with a retractable roof was lined with hundreds of plants producing a beautiful atmosphere amid antiques adorning the property. The cafe was an old Conquistador dungeon giving it so much character, but it was only open for breakfast from 7-9 am. And the free breakfast consisted of eggs every day with bread, juice, coffee, tea and a variety of one other choice each day. We had to ask for toilet paper twice for the tiny bathroom - no room in it to store an extra roll. The clerk was very helpful regarding places to go or eat. And a small store next door stocked cheese, crackers, wine, etc. that we could eat in the courtyard when we were too tired to go out.

The staff at this hotel was so pleasant! Everyone we encountered was smiley, professional, and helpful. The breakfast was great, rooms beautiful, great location within the city, hot showers, enough space to store clothing, and rooms were comfortable temperature. Cons: like many buildings in this city, this hotel is an antique so if you’re sensitive to noise, then you may want to reconsider since traffic, other outdoor noise, and squeaky floors may keep you up. For me personally it wasn’t an issue but my husband had a hard time staying asleep. The hallway outside our room was extremely squeaky so we heard every step when someone passed our room. A family member stayed in a room without a window which was a bit uncomfortable to them but again maybe personal preference. Conclusion: would stay here again considering the competitive price, perfect location, and wonderful staff.

Gorgeous and centrally-located historic hotel. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room and the bed was also comfortable. Have a drink one evening on the rooftop deck!

Cool little spot. Glad we booked it. Unique property and feel. No AC, but didn’t need it.

This hotel was gorgeous, rooms were clean and spacious. They offered airport service via taxi for a fee, which was reasonable and greatly appreciated. This hotel is centrally located and walking distance to the grand plaza and several other spots we wanted to see. Staff were helpful and we loved out brief time here.

Our second stay here was even better than the first time. We had a very nice room on the fourth floor (no elevator but staff can help with luggage). Make sure you visit the rooftop!

We stayed late May in this hotel. It is a beautiful historic place with very convenient location, right in the middle of historic center of Quito. We consider that this site has of the best staff we encountered in our international trips. On the morning we were leaving for the airport, all the streets around hotel were blocked for marathon, our taxi couldn’t come to the hotel entrance. The person at the front desk (unfortunately, do not know his name) helped us to carry our luggage to the taxi that was parked a few blocks away. On a downside, breakfast is basic, the building is squeaky due to its age and does not have soundproof walls. However, I will never hesitate to stay there again.

The inner courtyard is delightful and a lovely setting for waiting and just resting after a long flight or walk around Quito. Staff was helpful in arranging taxis. Location is close to many shops and the old square. It would be helpful to have a map of the city

Well-located hotel with a pretty courtyard , rooftop terrace and historical significance. Amenities basic (just soap shampoo and towels) but the shower was hot with good pressure. Breakfast also basic but well balanced with fresh fruit, fresh juice, bread, eggs and sometimes humitas. They offered upon arrival complimentary wine as Expedia VIP perk which was nice (some VIP hotels don't remember to recognize it). Staff were helpful to store my medicine in the hotel fridge and book a ride to the airport (who showed up on time). One downside, noise control. It's very quiet generally but since the rooms face the court yard when the reception phone rings any time of day it echos. There was a tour group staying there that met for a departure briefing in the courtyard at 5:30 am and we could hear everything. I don't know what the hotel can do other than to call for courtesy. Overall, id definitely stay again.

A beautiful and quaint hotel in the historic district. A nice inner yard with plenty of greenery an flowers. Unfortunately there is no bar or dinner restaurant in the hotel, only a breakfast area. Breakfast is also a bit sparse, but will still recommend a stay. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and nice pedestrian streets.

Beautiful 400-year-old hotel in the central historic district of Quito. The floorboards are squeaky but that can be expected in such an old building.
