I love the fact that I got to stay here during black history month ! Even though it due to an unfortunate circumstances at the time . I highly recommend very clean in the inside and nice. The staff is extremely friendly and sweet. I enjoyed my nights stay . I would suggest they remodel a tad that would be my con . Other than that I would stay again

Wanted to like it. Well decorated. However the upkeep on the property and rooms was severely lacking. Bed sheets were dirty. Floors were dirty. No phone in room. No cable connected to the tv. No elevator. And the door to the room looked like it had been broken into and left in this state.

First- the staff was great. Very friendly, helpful, and helped with anything we needed. Next- this is not in a great part of town. Shady people hanging out in parking lot watching us as we came and went. Trash and beer cans were "deposited" in the back of my parked truck overnight. This is not under the control of the hotel, but needs to be mentioned as its part of the overall experience. Room- very basic. Outward opening door with no apparent security protections. No hot water in shower. Comfortable memory foam mattress and pillows. Small smart TV, micro fridge, microwave. I needed some help from staff getting the remote for the heat/AC to work, but eventually got it dialed in to a comfortable setting. Breakfast was MINIMAL. We chose to go out instead. Overall, its a room & bed if you need to be in Miami, but not much more.

Some of the kindest staff I've ever encountered. Room is very cute with the theme of each musician. Free parking is a great bonus. The neighborhood is not very walkable but being close to clubs and downtown ubers are all around.

We had a great stay. Very welcoming and accommodating. Each room is different and unique. We loved our stay.

The people working there are amazing. The rooms small but have everything you need. However there is no art gallery. Amazing pictures and sculptures on the walls yes but no gallery.

The staff was excellent. Cleaning could be a little better. Nice amenities. Bed was comfortable.

Excellent place

The staff was nice and friendly! The room was filthy, the bedding was dirty, nails in the door holding it together. We slept on top of the blankets with our clothes on and the shower curtain was moldy and dirty. I didn't shower before going on my cruise in Maima. It doesn't even deserver 1 star.

Staff very friendly, in a bit of a less favorable area but overall room was clean, hotel was secure (they kept doors locked most of the time) and they had a limited continental breakfast in the morning. Hotel was definitely smaller that I was expecting but overall was impressed for the price. Staff really seems to care and make the best of everyone’s stay. Will stay again for sure

I have nothing but good things to say about my stay at Dunn Josephine. The entire staff provided a warm welcome upon my arrival. Storing my bags before check-in and after check-out was not an issue. My room was beyond comfortable and very clean. The bed was hard to get out of. lol. It goes without saying I will definitely be coming back. I have found my new go to hotel in Miami. Did I mention the historical impact of the hotel? Go see for yourself. 10/10

The room was very clean and spacious with a nice comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was provided. The art work and historical figures displayed was very nice to see. There’s also a relaxing backyard with cabanas. Had a nice stay, thanks

Hotel was very nice. Staff was also very nice. They need an elevator. We had to lug our luggage up the stairs.

Is this a 4 star hotel? No but nicely remodeled clean rooms. No issues with the room or service. Everyone was friendly and offered great advice. Location feels a step below but very close to downtown Miami. Some homeless but so does every big city. Plenty of police presence. There were people jogging and walking dogs alone. As a woman I wouldn't walk alone at night but felt just fine with my husband. During the day it was fine felt safe. 20-30 minute walk to water. 15 minutes to food and the metro station. Good place for a decent price. If you have issues with stairs this is an old building no elevator ask for a main floor room
