We very much enjoyed our two nights stay at the old Sailor Home. Good location if you want to be close to the harbor and a little away from the center. Still in walking distance to center. Nice views, good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.

A nice property by the port with beautiful mountain views at breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. I was snowed in for a few days but it was just perfect, you are invited to help yourself to coffee in the dining room anytime and made to feel at home. I booked one of the small single rooms which had a very comfy bed and a nice view of the fishing boats.

Room was spacious and clean, bathroom a little small but it was sufficient. One thing to note, more accessibly located power points would be handy. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were both lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is about a 20 min walk to the main part of town but it’s an easy walk up the stairs and along the main road. If you are getting a tour or ferry from the port it’s about a 5 min walk.

The hotel was clean and friendly and I'd readily stay there again. For the price though, I'd have wished for a little more luxury on the downstairs rooms. I stayed twice in a week; the first time was downstairs and close to the hot tub - very noisy that night with a group in the tub. The second night I stayed, it was upstairs, it was quiet, and much more luxurious. Definitely ask for an upstairs room!

We loved our stay at Hotel Soma in Nuuk. The staff were so warm and welcoming. We felt very comfortable throughout our visit because of the kindness shown to us. The restaurant was superior, and the Christmas feast was truly amazing. Our room was very clean and had the minimalist styling and high-quality furnishings the Danish are famous for.

A big thank you based on my recent stay at Hotel Soma Nuuk. The hotel was a fantastic option and deliberately chosen as near the Tidal Steps for a few boating trips. My budget room was impeccably clean, and warm. Breakfast was brilliant with a good choice of hot and cold options. A big thanks you to the young lady who manned the restaurant for breakfast/lunch, and the young man on evening duty - did a great job of welcoming me and giving me the general low down on the areas food Thanks

Great hotel. Very close to the downtown area. 15-minute walk or so, immediate next to the port for the cruise I did around Greenland. I stayed in the budget room, which meant shared shower and toilet, but it had a nice sink in the room for brushing the teeth. Great economic option. And it was really cool to stay in one of the older buildings instead of one of the newer modern ones. Definitely recommend this place. Oh and delicious restaurant!

Nice breakfast buffet offered, several nice options were available. Beds were very comfortable, but as usual, extremely narrow. Small Great shower pressure Easy taxi ride to and from airport. Dinner menu was limited but presented very well. Do not forget to bring your 2 prong euro AC adapters. There are no USB charging ports for phones. Wall outlets only. Overall, a nice pleasant stay.

I booked the single room with no attached toilet which had the smallest bed I had ever seen. The shared showers were dirty and had a bad Oder, and no shampoo, conditioner, or soap was provided. The area around the hotel was more of a ship yard, and the downtown was about a 20 minute walk. The airport shuttle is 95DKK per direction. If you are more than one person you are better off taking a taxi for 150DKK. Other than that the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Really liked this hotel. It is right in the harbor, which is one of the more interesting and colorful areas of Nuuk. The food in the restaurant was great and the bed and room were very comfy.

Hotel Somo is simple, safe, and run by consistently kind and proficient staff. My room was quiet, had everything I needed, and the complimentary breakfast was nutritious with staff happy to adjust the spread. The front desk team and servers showed genuine warmth and Christ-like care, which was refreshing. I also appreciated the reliable airport shuttle, which spared guests from overpriced taxis. The hotel’s hot tub is spotless and offers a stunning mountain view—perfect for catching the northern lights. On top of that, profits support local Christian missions, and the abundance of live plants throughout the building gives it a welcoming feel. On the downside, the property is very dated and in need of remodeling. The location, while safe, is a tough 20-minute walk from town and right in the middle of the fishing industry, which not everyone will enjoy. The restaurant food is generally unhealthy—most items are fried and heavy, with only salads and the occasional pan-seared fish special as lighter options. Cakes and pastries dominate the displays. The hot tub, though beautiful, is very expensive, and smokers often gather at the entrance, making it unpleasant to enter or exit the building. Overall, this place is safe and community sensitive.

Staff friendly, hotel OK and clean although some rooms do not have their own bathroom. We did and the shower was very good - nice water pressure but the bathrooms were outdated. Hotel is about a 15 min walk from town so not very centrally located. Thought it was expensive $345 per night.
