Eventually, I had a lovely room. Initially, I was placed in a room with two single beds, even though I was travelling alone and had booked a standard double. I went down to request that my room be changed; although this was done swiftly, no form of apology was offered.
This is the first hotel I’ve stayed at where the staff didn’t smile, let alone say hello or goodbye when clearly seeing me enter or leave the hotel. To top things off, I was held at the reception desk for 20 minutes, with a receptionist telling me I owed £65, even though I had already paid through Hotels.com (which, by the way, was more than £65).
All in all, it’s a great property, but there was zero effort from staff to make me feel welcome.
