Have been here once a year for a getaway, and always look forward to the great staff, meals and the warm cozy pub.

Loved out stay at this hotel and restaurant on our final day in the Lakes. We stayed in Scafell Pike with the only negative being the room was very hot (we stayed in late Aug). We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely clean, comfortable, friendly, welcoming hotel in an amazing setting. Room was perfect. Even had a mini fridge to keep your milk in. There was flapjacks and a bottle of beer in the room to enjoy. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked with local ingredients. We will book again.

A lovely country Inn serving great food. Our double room was spacious and very comfortable. There are circular walks directly from the hotel that we sadly didn’t have time to try out, but this only serves as a good reason to come again!

We've just spent a lovely week at the Queen's Head at Troutbeck, Windermere. Lovely staff. Great food. Just near enough Windermere without being in the hustle and bustle and easy walks right from the door! We hope to return again soon.

This property has extremely comfortable rooms which are quiet, excellent food selections at reasonable prices and exceptional staff who make you feel welcome. We can certainly recommend this hotel for a relaxed stay.

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in for a very long time. Everything was perfect and our dog was pampered entirely.

Beautiful location. Lovely room, clean, modern but still traditional. Staff all extremely friendly and very helpful. Room was very hot and the mini fridge was rather loud but they’re not even complaints, just notes. Air con and a proper fridge and would be absolutely perfect.

My wife and I enjoyed a two night b and b stay at this lovely hotel with dinner on the first night. Although parts of the building are Elizabethan the inside decor is quite modern with extensive use of wood. The dining area around the bar is very attractive. The food was good and our waiter was very pleasant. A very good breakfast was enjoyed at a lovely table in the bar area. Our bedroom was lovely and the en suite was a wet room which was great. For some reason it was a little bit too warm despite a cooling fan but steps are in place to sort this out. Altogether a very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings and we look forward to returning sometime soon.

Great character filled accommodation set within Natural terrain, yet within reach of civilisation. Well looked after property, excellent service from everyone - from Reception to Bar to Restaurant to breakfast. If you want to escape the daily chores into a comfortable accommodation set in a natural location then this is it!
