Clarion Hotel in Umeå is well worth a visit. The staff at the reception had a good and welcoming attitude and had good knowledge of both the hotel and the city. Be sure to visit the hotel's roof terrace with bar and restaurant. Not only the fantastic view, the food was of a high standard and the knowledge of both food and drink was good among the serving staff. Don't miss out on the delicious breakfast either. As a vegan, gluten- or lactose-intolerant, there are several options. What about vegan waffles, for example?

Mycket trevligt och enligt förväntningarna. Det spa som finns i samma byggnad är väldigt liten och när vi var där var det väldigt trångt där inne. Det finns bara en bassäng och en bastu. Men det var ett trevligt spa over all.

God mat och trevlig personal på hotellets restaurang men däremot inte lika trevlig personal i baren vid incheckningen.

Very cosy place

Good position in centrum but the hotel has some old fashioned opening hours were they apply country side peoples mentality: lobby bar closes 19:00 ! and roof top bar 23:00! We were told to leave sharp 23:00 because "we are closed". Hotel room without any services; minibar was partly not refilled (no beer), you could not buy a beer in reception, no bathrobe or water bottle. Of course no Nescafe machine for coffee making. Would never visit this hotel again. Gym was small and had not the basic equipment you could require from such one, no water available or towels. I was not visiting spa and sauna because it was so much noise and floors were covered with water when I looked inside.
