Friendly staff. Looks like it's struggling to keep afloat

Check in was supposed to be at 4 o'clock. Our room was not ready until seven that evening. Was excuse after excuse after excuse. Management did comp breakfast. The restaurant and server were dirty. Not a pleasant stay.

Beach was clean room was nice easy walk to the beach

1960s styling of the hotel is great, the staff are friendly and professional, and the location on the lakeshore by the nature reserve is fantastic. The swimming pool was being refurbished, but other than that it was the perfect stay.

During booking it said breakfast was included and also that I would have a lake view only to arrive and be told that breakfast was not included, and we had a roof view with very little lake view at all. Best to probably call the hotel and book directly.

The pool wasn’t operating. The motel was relatively clean. The staff were very helpful

Was a nice stay for the reason I eating the area. Fishing. Glad to see the hotel open again. Stayed there before and will probably stay again sometime.

Great place. Amazing staff. Very clean. Ken and Paris are awesome. Property needs more amenities. Only one vending machine with sodas. No snacks. Bar closes too early. Kitchen needs some training on how to grill steaks. Basically nothing to eat in the nearby area unless you are a fan of fast food.

It is a place we would stay again even tho there were little things that we wish were better. Door to bathroom needed replaced. Door handle to it kept coming off and the door looked a bit beat up. Being on the beach was pretty cool.

Ok hotel

Hotel is in a great location. Hotel check in not so friendly. Should be more activity going on in lobby it supposed to be a resort. Maybe some entertainment. Pool under construction. Really nothing to do.

The swimming pool has been closed for two years and it's nowhere near ready. They need to remove the swimming pool from the listing because the lady said there's nowhere near completed. My plan was to go swimming.

Upin arrival entered the roon and it had NOT been clean from the previous guest. Went back to the front desk to let them know waite a hour and a half for them to clean it. I was offered another room but it was not the type of room i requested. The manager did offer me a food voucher. Which was not so great. We I finally got in my room the floors was dirty and the room was not really clean.

Our stay at Illinois Beach State Park Resort was great! The room was nice and updated and the hotel was beautiful. The lake view was beautiful! The pool was being renovated, but it was too cold to swim anyway. The hotel employees were super friendly and helpful! This was a great place to stay and we will definitely be back!

Peace and quiet...beautiful! Excellent room service and friendly staff!! Restaurant was above and beyond my expectations!!..Plating of food was exquisite!...absolutely delicious!!!

The beach and hotel itself are very beautiful! Lovely views. The pool was down for rennovation, which I understand and still booked. However, I inquired about the really great looking restaurant/bar inside the hotel being open the day before and when arrived and checked in and both people said "yes they open at 4". We come down at 4 and asked again, and the receptionist said no the restaurant was not open today because they did not have a cook and were looking to staff one. Both the website and google hours also said the restaurant was open. Everyone was really nice and overall we stil had a good stay, but was just disappointing Since everything was saying the restaurant would be open, it was not, and we were looking forward to that aspect of our stay.

Not restaurant service, everything is far , hard when traveling with a toddler, the first night was ok the restaurant service was great, but next morning was closed until Saturday morning the reception said. The bathroom is very DUSTY AND DIRTY. Reception was professional and friendly. I did know I didn’t have a LAKE VIEW, ( that was the reason I bought my grandson) to see the Lake .
