Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Ashley Tang Menteng. The hotel has a modern design, the interior still feels new, and the location is excellent. It is within a short walking distance of Sarinah and surrounded by many dining options, which is very convenient.
However, there are several areas that could be improved.
Before my arrival, I submitted a request through the app for a high-floor room with a nice view, as well as a special setup since I was traveling with my child. I also sent a message to the hotel's WhatsApp number listed on Instagram, but unfortunately, I never received a response, even after I had checked out.
At check-in, I was assigned a room on a lower floor with no view, and there was no acknowledgment of my requests. I understand that the hotel is currently undergoing renovation, and I appreciate that this was communicated through a notice in the room. However, the renovation noise was quite disruptive and affected my child's rest.
When I contacted the Reception to request a room on a higher floor, I was simply informed that the situation would be the same on all floors and was only offered a room on the third floor. I felt there was very little effort to provide an alternative solution or any form of service recovery, which was disappointing.
The breakfast was acceptable, but the variety was limited compared to other hotels in the same category.
On a positive note, I would like to thank the team for accommodating my request for a late check-out until 1:00 PM, which was greatly appreciated.
Overall, the hotel has great potential with its modern facilities and excellent location. I hope the team can improve guest communication, better acknowledge special requests, and provide more proactive service recovery to enhance the overall guest experience.
