I stayed just one night during a business trip to Maassluis and was taken there for lunch. The position of the hotel and the ambience were such that I decided to stay that night rather than driving to an over expensive and anonymous airport hotel at Schiphol. Check in was quick, efficient and friendly so that was a good start. My room was at the top of the hotel with original timbers exposed so full of character. I would say that with -5C outside the room and especially bathroom heating struggled to cope but I was warm enough. The restaurant and the view from the restaurant is amazing and just perfect for a bored traveller that hates eating alone. Ambience by the bucket load and an excellent menu. I settled for the four course set meal and it was excellent. The service could have been more attentive but they were very busy and once I had a large glass of merlot in my hand, I did not mind waiting patiently. Breakfast was also good and this is a hotel I would love to stay in again but I suspect that it will be fully booked in the holiday season. One of my favourite stays, and such a shame that Mrs Jones could not have been with me because she would have loved it.
