The property was so close to the Old Course. Easy walk. I would also recommend at least having a drink at Rusacks Bar. It is a real experience. The stairs at the hotel are a little tuff. Other than that, wonderful for a short visit to St. Andrew.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to Old St Andrews course and town center. The staff was exceptional in taking care of any questions we had. The room was comfortable and clean. Definitely would return.

Great property!!

The Haar Rooms is a wonderful small inn. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. The included breakfast was excellent. And, it is very conveniently located a hundred yards or so from The Old Course and just a short walk to all of the restaurants, shops and historic sites in St. Andrews. It is also reasonably priced compared to the larger golf hotels nearby. I highly recommend it.

We loved the accessibility this property gave us to St Andrews! Everything is walkable & it was especially close to the old course club house for my husband’s golf round. Parking is super hard to come by in town for free. This location was right around the corner from an entire row of free spots, we never had an issue finding a spot. Staff were all amazing! Would definitely recommend this location!

Great atmosphere and staff, Grace and David were both continuously professional and courteous! Breakfast and Cappuccino's at the Haar were always the perfect way to start the day!

Amazing location!

Let me begin by saying: YES, I would definitely stay at the Haar Rooms again without hesitation. Strategically located (50 meters from the Old Course), impecable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Finally, after been awarded 4AA Rosettes and included in the Michelin Guide, you better try the food. As there is no perfect anything, I couldn't understand how hard can it be to accomodate a late check-Out (11:30am or noon), with only 6 rooms to clean (if all at the same time) and with check-in at 3:30pm. Also, water was pooling in my sink and shower (it did not overflow, but just about). Thank you all at Haar Restaurant with Rooms

Nice accommodation in good area, room a little small but clean, warm & comfortable bed, slept well, lovely breakfast. Would certainly stay again, there is only 6 rooms & all up stairs so wouldn’t recommended if any difficulty with walking as no lift. On returning i would request a slightly bigger room & on the first floor.

I was not originally planning to leave a review, but after being prompted twice by Hotels.com, I feel it is worth sharing my experience. This property enforces a very strict cancellation policy. I had to cancel last minute and tried to reach out two days before check-in, but was still charged for the full four-night stay even though I had a flexible rate. The most disappointing part was the lack of responsiveness. Messages sent via Hotels.com were ignored, and it took three days to receive a reply by email from the hotel manager. Other hotels in St Andrews normally charge the first night in similar situations. Charging the full stay feels unusually rigid. You are clearly paying a significant premium for the location near the Old Course, but the level of service does not match that price point. I would recommend travellers visiting St Andrews to consider other options—either better premium hotels or more affordable B&Bs that offer better overall value.

The room was clean with everything we could possibly need, the shower was super, the bed very comfortable. The location was so central and the food was fabulous as were the staff.
