Had an early evening meal here in Monday after a lovely walk in Shining Cliff Woods and it was excellent. Fantastic choice of courses, and all three of them were first class. The halloumi starter was a delight, the burger was a hearty treat and sticky toffee pudding to finish...well, need I say more? I felt duty bound to offer our border terrier Elfi a little bit of each course, and she endorsed my five star rating. This is a cut above pub grub, all three courses were expertly executed and full of flavour. The service was prompt and friendly, and we felt very much at home - we'll definitely be visiting again soon!

Been coming here for Sunday dinner’s for around the past 6 months. We keep coming back because it’s exceptionally good food and always a really positive experience. I really like how the staff (both front of service and, I think, kitchen staff) are all quite young but run the place in an brilliantly competent and friendly manner. Excellent beer too. A real Derbyshire gem.

Opted for the beef baguette with roast potatoes and gravy. Enjoyed it to some degree, potatoes were quite over done but beef was lush. Would return to try the standard menu

Have stayed here a few times now and really love this pub/hotel. Last time we stayed as a family of four and had 2 rooms. The staff are really friendly, the food is fantastic (we had dinner and breakfast and both were great), and location if perfect as a base for walking in the area. Look forward to staying here again in the future.

Let us park our motor home in there car park for a price of a meal. Which was fantastic. Staff amazing very helpful and friendly. Lovely views too.
