My room and en suite were spotless. The bed was very comfortable. The waiting staff were charming and very, unobtrusively efficient. We felt the hotel was undoubtedly well managed. I.have no.hesitation in commanding it to others. We'll be back !

The toilet in my room kept dripping all night and woke me up at least 4 times. Breakfast was meh with stale pastries and really small plates. Staff was nice but nothing else was.

The room was clean but patio door lock was broken. There were a couple of stains on the carpet. The water pressure in the shower was dreadful!

Wonderful location right on the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were very good.

All staff were very accommodating and friendly including the reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble. A super hotel, unique in style, and situated right on the beach. Breakfast menu is vast with waiter/waitress service all looking continental and very chic! There is an ‘All Day Menu’ with delicious food to suit all tastes. We had a very relaxing stay and will certainly be back, Thank you to all at the Relais..,,..

Lovely room king sea view we had an unexpected balcony big plus Shower good comfortable big bed Terrace good service a bit disjointed .waiting staff often didn't know where to take orders Disappointed with deckchairs Email said your resererved deckchair and umbrella await. On arrival few scattered sunlloungers no umbrellas no shade Excellent food fir dinner large portions Breakfast bit disappointing. Poached eggs hard but omlette good and verry good continental selection But great location and a definite return

Room was hot, and noisy due to proximity of kitchen extraction units Convenient location and great setting right next to beach.

I loved the relaxed vibe, the friendly staff and the location right on the beach. It’s a bit retro, but in all the good ways. It was just lacking a seafront pool and a shower for the thermal spa. Fantastic food.

Excellent stay hotel was welcoming clean and great atmosphere ,food had great choice for lunch and dinner service was and staff very helpful Great hotel right on the beach would recommend and will be returning soon Thanks for a great stay.

We go there a lot and have been doing for years. Staff generally great. Nice to be on the beach, especially in the summer. Despite being refurbished a couple of years ago, the upper corridors look a bit grubby and in need of a few fresh coats of paint. Upstairs carpets also look grubby. And we really don't like the new decor. We preferred it as it was.The rooms are nice and clean when you arrive and housekeeping is good. There are a few issues with the new bathrooms which could do with some attention. Induction at the spa was really poor. I and other people who'd come just for the day we're left with no idea how anything worked! That member of the spa staff needs training properly. The person who did my massage though was great.

Food gone down in quality and expensive.Menu change bad decision from previous visits.wine so expensive.

Lovely Hotel with friendly staff and good food. However, restaurant staff need more training as several times mistakes were made with our food and drink orders. Get this done and we would have given top marks. We did enjoy our three days break.

We had an amazing stay, the hotel and staff are fabulous. The spa is a little on the small side and when busy doesn’t offer many areas to escape everyone, but the treatments are fantastic and well worth the money. Overall a fantastic stay! Thank you, we will be back!

I struggle to understand how this is a 4 star hotel, one bath towel in a double room. Asked reception for another and the expectation was for us to come down and collect it! Hotel public areas refurbished nicely however corridors to rooms haven't seen a decent makeover in what seems like years. Narrow corridors, squeaking floorboards, old fashioned keys to rooms. Shower door had the biggest gap. Breakfast was their only saving grace.

We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia there was an additional charge which we had to pay. Also, spa shower not working. If all this had been clear on the website we wouldn't have booked. No lifts and no help to carry luggage. Whilst I accept the sq ft of our room is on the website, it really is a shock how small it is. For a single traveller it might be Ok but for a couple with luggage in my opinion it's not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel. If you are a couple then I strongly suggest you avoid this room. While some rooms have air conditioning, this room does not and it's very uncomfortable at night in hot weather. It would make a good cupboard. The location of the hotel is excellent but it is a bit out the way with no restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity. Inside the hotel there is no specific bar/lounge area, just a pool room that could be utilised better. There is a lovely outside bar/restaurant area with sea views but the service is abysmal. Expect long waits to be served or get your bill.
