This was the next to last stop on a 2 week road trip to northern France.....Loire Valley, land of castles and chateaux. After much research, my husband found this gem next to the river. We stayed in one of the original buildings that had been modernized, but still had charm and character of the past with exposed, rustic beams and plaster work. The restaurant/bistro was modern with indoor/outdoor dining, a diverse French menu and excellent wine list. The staff was well versed, efficient and very friendly.

A lovely place to stay. New, well designed, unfussy, relaxed, comfortable, quiet rural setting, superb food, wonderful staff. Very sorry to have to leave.

Unique hotel, off the beaten path. Room was modern and large with patio onto grass space. Bathroom was spacious. Restaurant was excellent with good selection of food. Would highly recommend.

This is an exceptional property located in the heart of the Loire Valley. The gourmet dining room is excellent, the rooms are new and attractively decorated, and the staff is professional and friendly. A real gem?

Friendly staff. Everywhere spotlessly clean and the bonus of having a kettle in the room. The restaurant food was amazing, locally sourced and produced.

We stayed on a stopover last night en route to the Dordogne. Friendly staff who are really helpful and speak fluent English. For a 3* the rooms were really clean , comfortable large double bed, decent shower, modern we had a superior room overlooking the gardens and slept with the windows open lovely. The garden is perfect for chilling out and having a cheeky beer or glass of wine in the afternoon. The dinner is superb do not just add your dinner request to your hotel booking but email the hotel who are super responsive. The food was beautifully presented , so many lovely touches with amuse Buche galore , it is a must visit and the sommelier is super helpful so we had a great wine to accompany our dinner. Our photos are getting a lot of Instagram love! Breakfast good for 12 Euro fresh fruit, pastries, good cheese and meats and a few hot bits , they will also bring you fresh coffee just ask. A fabulous first night of our holiday thank you!

Excellent dinner

The hotel is on a busy road and opposite a train station. It does not have air conditioning so we had to sleep with windows open. Which is not a problem but the noise from the cars on the road was so loud that I couldn't sleep properly during my stay.

Lovely stay in La Caillere. The real bonus is the restaurant which is absolutely superb and very reasonably priced for the standard. Also all the staff are fantastic!

La Caillere is a great hotel to stop if you are touring the Loire castles. The garden is a great place to relax and unwind. They even have a playground for kids. In the evening you can dine outside on the terrasse sampling their degustation menus. Good quality and fresh food with an extensive "carte de vins ".

First time staying here and hopefully will not be the last. Room was comfortable and clean. The real treat,however, is the restaurant. Fantastic. Unfortunately, it was not open ecery night but there were plenty of places to eat within a few kilometres. The hotel is well situated for visiting the area.

Welcoming hotel with clean basic rooms, recently renovated bathrooms with modern shower. Good location for visiting Loire Chateaux. Outstanding gastronomic restaurant on premises.

Very comfortable stay in a Character room (the mid Quality level of 3), with modern bathroom and shower facilities, comfortable firm mattress. However, The standouts at this property are the high level of service from the owners and the gastronomique restaurant. The food quality and presentation are outstanding - far and away the best restaurant in the area. The property is also conveniently located for touring many of the Loire Chateaux and Wineries.
