Very disappointed with the front desk staff, we checked in late and was assisted by a male front desk officer with pretty nails, then he informed because the hotel was quite full and we booked in the last minute (actually I booked the room 1 day before, I think it was still ok and there were still non smoking room available at that time). He said we didn’t get the non smoking room like as I booked before, then I told him there are children and elderly so we need the non smoking room, he said the non smoking room was not available so what he can do only provide the flexible room (in my mind flexible means you can smoke or not) and because it was late at nite so we were ok with it, our rooms in 2nd floor, once the lift door open at the 2nd floor you can smell the smoke everywhere and actually it’s the smoking floor room which is all the room is smoking rooms not flexible room like pretty nails officer stated, and the bellman reconfirmed it it’s smoking room floors. cause it’s really late and my kid already sleepy so we reluctantly slept in this room.
The next morning when I checked out and asked the front desk, she said yes the hotel quite full but there were still non smoking room available and she apologized on behalf of the pretty nails Officer, she said if the guest bring kids and elderly they’ll priorities to get the non smoking room, I was really angry, if adults really can’t breath in the room what about the children? Really give the smoking floor rooms??
I wouldn’t mind upgrading if type of room that I booked not available when I check in but he didn’t give any option like he didn’t care, come on man that’s your duty as front desk officer even for the guest who’s coming late at nite. If you don’t work late of nite just ask for the morning shift.
