A very tranquil place surrounded by beautiful scenery. The accomodation is tired but has everything you need. Ideally you need to have your own transport if you want to get around. Tom the owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful

Location was beautiful. Certainly a place enabling you to relax and chill out. Cottage was clean, tidy with all facilities we needed. The host, Tom, went out of his way to make sure we settled in, had everything we needed, and his hospitality went above and beyond what we might have reasonably expected. Thanks again Tom.

I'm a pulmonary & critical care physician in Florida, USA. I have lived in many different countries and traveled to more than 40 different countries on 6 different continents. I love nature, healthy living, good-hearted people and delicious food. My week at Naniki cottages under the guidance of my friend and mentor Tom (the owner), has changed my outlook at life. This place is a piece of paradise. No mosquitoes, nothing poisonous or harmful on the island, right next to the best surfing in the Caribbean (the soup bowl) and overall a therapeutic retreat. That mountain in St. Joseph is ranked 3rd in the world in longevity; most people live to 100 years old. I will be going back again and again as I intend to purchase a plot of land in the area to build my dream vacation home for my family one day.

The property is dated, needs to be freshened up top to bottom. It is on the fringe of a wooded area nice and quite. The 1 big complaint is that the property owner did not advise us that we were the only visitors to be there most of the time so there would be no food service available, so we had to cook every meal for ourselves. So that meant going to the grocery stores and buying supplies. Not what we had in mind for a relaxing 14 day stay. The cleaning lady was fantastic she did a great job of making our stay a little more tolerable.

A serene spot overlooking the Atlantic, it was everything that we hoped it to be. Tom is a wonderful host just wished we had stayed longer. A beautiful area of Barbados that everyone should visit at least once in their life

Tom is great, he owns the property and is very hands on and helpful with knowledge about Barbados and where to go. He knows who can help and just overall very hospitable. 10 for 10 recommend, especially since the location is unlike anything else on the island.

The location was perfect, set within the natural environment of the rain forrest with stunning views. Because it's rural a car is highly recommended. A place of tranquillity and peace. You'll find the owner Tom extremely helpful too. Lovely man.

Tom the owner is a super helpful guy and so friendly and kind. Stayed here with husband and 2 children for 6 nights and really enjoyed the peace and being surrounded by nature and the forest & swimming pool. Cannot stress enough how helpful Tom was from organising food, taxis, a sightseeing trip and giving lifts to my husband to get food from the local shop. If you’re not into superficial boring 5 star hotels and want to be immersed in local Bajan culture and nature this is the place for you

Naniki is a haven in a delightfully non-touristy part of the island. The views out to sea from the cabins are fantastic. The food was also top notch. Tom, the attentive host is a reason in itself for visiting. His company and his informative tour of the nearby forest were highlights of our trip to Barbados.

Naniki was a really lovely place off the beaten path. Very quiet and beautiful spot. Tom is an excellent and attentive host. I stayed here for four days of quarantine after arrival in Barbados and this was definitely the right choice for me. I loved the hammock.

If you appreciate tranquillity in beautiful natural surroundings, this is the place.Tom Hinds is an excellent host who will do anything to make your stay comfortable and interesting. It was very enjoyable to chat with him every day. We weren't able to participate in the walks he offered but we enjoyed following the marked trails in the forest on our own. Our bungalow was elevated with a wonderful view over the garden and wooded hills to the ocean. The air was cool and louvres permitted a gentle breeze throughout the cottage. Two sets of French windows led from the lounge to the balcony on to which we moved the lounge and dining furniture to enjoy the view and the sounds of nature throughout our stay. We were awoken by birdsong and went to bed to the sound of crickets and frogs. Monkeys were to be seen in the trees behind the cottages and occasionally, when all was quiet, in the grounds enjoying the fruit on the guava trees. We could hear them chattering in the trees in the late afternoon. The pool is small but very pleasant for a cooling swim after an excursion. The open air restaurant, overlooking the same beautiful view, offers delicious lunches cooked by a very good local chef. We experienced only one slight problem: weakening of the wi-fi signal as the number of guests increased. Tom was looking at a solution as we left. It’s important to establish how to meet Tom on arrival. We loved it here. It’s not posh but so friendly and in tune with nature . Hope to return soon

We received impressive hospitality from Tom, the owner of Naniki. Each property was unique with beautiful tranquil views of the local 'rainforest' area, and the Sunday morning Nature walk was completely worth the early start! The outdoor shower and hammocks were a lovely touch and much appreciated! Special thanks to Tom for coming out to fix the shower problem...

So we came to Barbados for the first time and chose to stay at the Naniki Cottages because it looked interesting on Hotels.com. This ended up being a great decision. Firstly, it is in a great location nestled in the cottage palms with an amazing view of the Atlantic from up high. It is several degrees cooler than sea level and there is an amazing breeze. We left the porch doors and windows open for the entire stay. We got there around 4:30pm and couldn't find anyone at all but noticed that Tom had texted us so we replied and he showed us to our cottage and gave us a ride to the store to stock up for the night and next morning (don't forget coffee!). Tom is a true Bajan gentlemen and is an excellent host. We participated in the Hike/Yoga/Breakfast Sunday morning. It is not at all a strenuous hike, it is more a tour of the grounds where you learn the history and the natural flora and fauna of the area but there are some slippery spots so wear shoes with some good grip. I skipped the yoga (went to the store for coffee) but my girlfriend said it was the best instructor she's experienced and was a great session. I believe the restaurant is open for lunch most days and breakfast on the weekends. I've seen some "impatient" reviews of Naniki. This is not fast food. This is not the posh west side. There is a very small, very friendly staff with limited facilities. Don't come hangry. Relax. Be patient. Chat with Tom. Enjoy the views of the ocean, listen to the breeze through the palms

This place was completely beautiful. Tom was an excellent host and great to chat with throughout our visit. The walk he took us on through the countryside was lovely. Every evening around 4pm loads of monkeys come into the garden. We saw maybe 25-30 over the space of an hour one evening making their way down the paths and into the trees for fruit. Really memorable experience!
