Loved the staff and room. Clean and in a beautiful spot. Dining possibilities in picturesque settings and walkable distance from the hotel

We picked this hotel based on the excellent past reviews. Unfortunately we got the last room which was small and a few meters from the railway. Every time the train goes by (starting very early in the morning) the room shakes as if an earthquake is coming. Add the noise from the train and the nearby church bells going off until late at night and you will get the perfect sleepless night. The photo shows rooms that face away from the railway and I have to assume most rooms are like that, but I cannot comment on those rooms. My suggestion to the owners is to cancel any room facing the railways or warn the visitors beforehand (namely at the time of making the reservation). The breakfast area was very nice and the area beautiful although relatively hard to reach from Locarno without a car.

extremely clean and comfortable; the staff was very friendly and accommodating ; we arrived later in the evening and had to leave very early in am so they packed some breakfast for us as we couldn't stay for the breakfast buffet. Their recommendation of eating in town at the Cantina was excellent as well (the best meal experience in our 2 weeks stay in Switzerland). Highly recommend this hotel and the sweet and friendly couple who helped make our stay better

Herzlicher und aufmerksamer Empfang, wir fühlten uns auf Anhieb wohl. Das Zimmer mit Balkon und die übrigen Räumlichkeiten waren sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück konnten wir im Garten einnehmen, es war sehr Reichhaltig. Wir waren zum ersten mall hier und unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr alls erfüllt.

Ein tolles, familiengeführtes Hotel mit einem sehr herzlichen Empfang und tollem Service. :-) Alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Direkt in der Nähe befindet sich ein schöner Natur-Strand zum abkühlen.

Superbe endroit pour un séjour de randonnées dans le Tessin. Un acceuil très sympathique, un service de qualité, des chambres confortables et un petit-déjeuner excellent! Vraiment un endroit à recommander!

Das Hotel Barbatè lässt keine Wünsche offen: sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung, ein hervorragenes Frühstück, zweckmässige Zimmer. Wir haben ein Zimmer im 1. Stock mit Balkon gebucht.
