Stayed here for 3 nights in June, perfectly placed for touring the alpine passes in the vehicle of your choice 😉. Hotel clean and staff were very friendly. Town is remote with next to nothing going on and limited food choices, but not a fault of the hotel. Would visit again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Astoria is one of the best lodging and dining establishments we have visited in Switzerland. The staff is incredibly nice, the rooms are well appointed and very clean and the food at the restaurant is very, very good. We have been here twice in the past three years and will be back the next time we are in Switzerland.

We wanted to drive the mountain passes but mainly the famous Furka pass. The location was perfect for this. The staff at the hotel couldn’t have been nicer and if you’re looking to do the trip we did I can 100% recommend this hotel.

Hotel Astoria was a nice hotel situated in Ulrichen which worked out well for our travels. The hotel is nice and clean it's just a little tired in some places and a little noisy at times with the road but overnight was peaceful. The 'mountain view' wasn't really worth it as we had more of a view of the car park. All in all a perfectly nice hotel for an evening.

Peter and his staff are incredibly friendly and try to help in every way possible. The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant had many regional choices and the food was very tasty. We will certainly be back the next time we are in Switzerland. You cannot go wrong staying here.

Hotel Restaurant Astoria is an absolutely amazing place to stay. I'll break my review down into several areas: Region: Ulrichen is located along the valley floor, one of a series of picturesque towns located every five minutes or so. There appeared to be a train station in nearly every town, so I would expect that getting around the region by rail is doable. I had a car and I encourage others to have one, too. Within an hour are five of the most scenic mountain passes in the Alps and quite possibly the world. My personal favorite, the Nufenen Pass, starts right from the hotel's driveway. Service: The service at the hotel was outstanding. Check-in was prompt and courteous, all of my questions were answered, and the host spoke English much better than I speak. Several of the serving staff in the attached restaurant also spoke English and at no point did I feel the burden of a language barrier. Breakfast was filling and other meals in the restaurant were tasty. Room: I can only speak for my room, but it was fantastic. The room had a very modern decor, but one that still stayed true to its Alpine roots. The wifi was strong in the room, one of the best I've experienced in a mountain hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable as I generally find European mattresses to be a bit too firm for my liking. My room also had a fantastic balcony overlooking the valley to the south and the mountains both in the foreground and the distance.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel is modern. It's in a place I'd never heard of, which is not very touristy, but there's everything you need nearby for a night or two and the small village feels much more authentic than most of those that have been smartened up for tourists.

It needs to be stated that we were in the room no. 203. The reason for this because this room is in a new wing of the building, you can see from the outside that it is an added part. The room was new, very comfortable, large balcony with nice mountain view. The bathroom is also good. The lack of elevator is a minus. The restaurant is OK, although the menu selection is inadequate. The breakfast buffet is very nice, the quality of the offered selection is very good. I can recommend this hotel.

Gutes Mittelklassehotel an zentraler Lage.
