Friendly staff.

This is basically a family run old school bed and breakfast. Not a bad thing, but something I wish I knew before booking. The plus, it's reasonably comfortable. It's near the lake. The family is friendly. The catch is that there was a lot of kids running around and playing from about 7am to 11pm. The Mom running the place was doing her best and apologized for the noise, but couldn't do much about it. Before going back, I'd ask if a family reunion is underway. Also useful to know, it's about a 30 minute walk downtown.

Beautiful property but very little amenities for the price. Windows in the room were dirty and bathroom were outnof toiletries. Staff was friendly.

Long walk from town centre. Converted & extended large bungalow. Our accommodation was in wooden outbuildings. bathroom fully functional, but not best executed. Host Juan was very accommodating and helpful with local information, however may have been a little intrusive. Our room room was in one of the wooden outhouses, where the owners have maximised the available space, possibly to the detriment of the guests. The room was outside the main building. It was adequate, but compact. The bathroom was small and attached to the neighbouring room's bathroom, which was noisy and obtrusive.

The hotel is more like a B&B, is a house that has been changed to receive guests. Nevertheless the room was spacious and nice. It is located next to the lake so the views are impressive and the service was awesome. Do not expect fancy rooms or technology but a great getaway experience

Our experience was not totally satisfactory, in spite of the efforts of its owner to make everything agreeable. One disadvantage is the parking, and the heating was sparse.

My wife and I stayed with Flor Diaz at Canales del Sur for the last night of a 10 day trip to Southern Chile. Wis we had planned more time there! While Puerto Varas is a tourist town at the higher end of income bracket (i.e. not quaint), the inn is at the far southern end of town away from the large hotels and casino. As such, walking the lake pathway and the ambiance was much nicer than staying in the center of tourism. We were there in late spring so I can only imagine how crazy it becomes in town in the summer.

Host was very friendly

Excellent place to stay with your family or couple. Nice people, place and sorrounding. Breakfast is great and everything is doing by owners, a very nice couple and family that always are ready to resolve whatever you need, Something that for me was not important but for someones probably is, this is more a B&B than a hotel, Some rooms don´t have private bathroom some others have it. But definitely a really nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Canales del Sur. The location was wonderful for us as it was a nice 1/2 hour walk to town via the lakefront, and was far enough from the center of activity for us to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening on their beautiful sunporch after a day of exploring. The accomodations were very clean and comfortable, and the host family was welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. Breakfasts were very good, and the hosts were always ready to help make any phone calls or arrangements we needed as well as recommendations of places to go and things to see in the area. I recommend this guest house to anyone who is looking for a relaxing stay in Puerta Varas that is much more personal than staying in a big hotel.

Es una casa de familia que funciona como hotel. La casa es elegante y agradable; Flor fue asertiva con las necesidades que mencionamos y las solucionó oportunamente. La habitación que reservamos es pequeña, pero en general todo muy bien y acorde con el precio.

Alojamiento en cabañita exterior . Habitación básica con calefactor eléctrico . Cama con sábanas Nina Herrera pero con varias frazadas en lugar de edredón . Baño limpio con ducha que tiene dispensador de shampoo y jabón líquido ( no rotulado , hay que adivinar cuál es cuál ) . Se dispone de secador de pelo pequeño . No hay otras amenidades por lo que se recomienda llevar gorra de ducha y cotonitos . Tiene kitchenette con implementos básicos . Pero sin te o café , etc . No sé si era factible solicitarlos . Durante los 4 días de estadía no hubo servicio de habitación ( cosa que me acomoda , pero es preciso señalar para quienes sí lo puedan desear ). Muy buena ubicación , tiene estacionamiento .

Really nice and very clean house in front of the lake, we had a comfortable room. Right next to the house is a great restaurant with perfect breakfasts. The host is really friendly and speaks English. The only small thing to mention is that we expected to have a common kitchen like in hostels to prepare food by ourselves, but there is only a personal kitchen, so we couldn't cook. That's not a problem, but probably will help someone to have the right expectations

Me gustó, si tuviera que buscar algo sería la poca ventilación de la pieza y baño pero lo demás muy bueno, limpieza del lugar y lo hermoso en si
