Beautiful property - unique atmosphere and kind/helpful staff. Great food!

The room was nice and the place is a boutique hotel. They left a lot of dishes and such each day in our room. Even though the bed was made. It appeared they just made the bed. No sweeping and no removal of dirty dishes.

Individual rooms very different from each other. Plenty of character mixing modern minimalist with old features of the building, Relaxing public areas with friendly staff.

My stay at Villa Ruimzicht was delightful because of the staff who obviously love to work there. I told the manager, Marsha, that it must be good training. Friendly, gracious, always willing to serve. My glasses broke while I was staying there for a conference. I asked for an optician in town, but they did not open until 1PM that day and I had to go to the conference. The receptionist on duty (I don't remember whether it was Lisa or Nina) offered to take them to have them repaired for me while I was at the conference. Service above and beyond. The breakfast was made to order by Ruth or Monique depending on the day right in front of you. The restaurant dinner was excellent and the servers knowledgable and always with a smile. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely stay there again. The elevator was small and very slow which was keeping in the style of the grand old facility. Actually rather enjoyable to slow down. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

The bar/lounge area is great and staff very friendly. A nice breakfast. The bedroom was large but not very cosy. I was not very warm at night. The lights are operated by a remote control and it was not working very well. I had to ask assistance for the bathroom lights to be turned off.

Very nice old building with lots of character, not used to have glass wall and doors separating bathroom and toilet from room. Very nice breakfast and staff. Parking across busy street a minus.

Beautiful old building which was a former school I believe. Lovely restaurant but food menu is a bit limited in my personal view. Also, tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be nice but these are only little niggles. The room was surprisingly larger than I thought and I think my room was the only room with a little balcony. The rooms are very tastefully restored throughout.

Nice hotel in older building but needs a bit of a facelift.

No remote in the room, silly set up with two unknown remotes of which one is used to convert the room into a party type environment. Further the shower is located in the centre of the room, toilet does not give privacy either.

Centrally located, beautiful grounds. Small details in the room were missing, e.g. no drinking glasses in the room or bathroom and the modern style light switches did not work !

Spent 2 nights at this beautiful hotel. Decor is very stylish. Service throughout was friendly and efficient. We upgraded to a "romance" room which has a lovely view over the villa's front lawn and included an enormous bathroom with large soaking tub and its own sauna. Could have used more counter/storage space around the sink, and the pillows were not terribly comfortable, but those 2 minor items are my only criticisms. Breakfasts in the morning were exceptional. Great selection and, as everywhere, super friendly service. We enjoyed a 6-course "chef's surprise" tasting menu in the hotel's chic restaurant one evening and it was out-of-this-world. Felt like we were dining in a Michelin-star restaurant. The next evening we had burgers in the more casual bar area and they, too, were incredible. If your travel plans take you anywhere near Doetinchem I highly recommend giving this little gem a try. We cannot wait to return!

Wij sliepen in een suite met wellness, maar wat een gedateerde kamer zeg! De shutters waren kapot en functioneerden niet. De kranen waren een ramp om warm/koud water uit te krijgen. Het bed was volledig doorgelegen en we werden met vreselijke rugpijn wakker. De kussens zaten vol met vieze bruine vlekken. Bij het optillen van de topper zat alles vol met haren. Het bedovertrek was ongestreken. De afstandsbediening plakte. Het ontbijt (extra bijgeboekt) was een teleurstelling. Vrijwel alles was op en moest je vragen om bij te vullen terwijl de dame achter de zogenaamde “live cooking” (niet meer dan een eitje of omelet bakken) niks te doen had. Zonde van het geld! Bij het uitchecken werd ook niet gevraagd hoe het verblijf was. Jammer allemaal. Want het gebouw is erg mooi en met wat meer aandacht en een fikse update zou het een enorme verbetering zijn.
