I came to Utrecht to escape the noise and crowds of Amsterdam — unfortunately, staying at Bunk Hotel was the opposite of that. This place feels more like a restaurant and paid co-working space than a hotel. During the day, it is completely packed. If you’re lucky, you might find a wooden stool to sit on — actual work or lounge spaces are essentially nonexistent. Every desk and table is occupied across the ground floor, first floor, and even the guest-only third-floor area. The staff are also extremely rigid about checkout times. Despite the fact that pods aren’t cleaned for hours afterward, guests are required to check out at exactly 11:00 AM. If you don’t, expect repeated, cold, and frankly rude knocks right next to your bed — not a great experience, especially in a pod setup. The concept itself is interesting, and on paper it sounds great. Unfortunately, a good concept doesn’t always translate into good functionality, and in this case, it really doesn’t. If you’re looking for a calm, comfortable stay or a place to actually relax or work, this is not it.

Wonderful staff. Clean room. Shower difficult to understand (hot, cold, handspray, overhead) and my first room was cramped with a view of the restaurant. Weird and unattractive.

Love so much Bunk for everything : super friendly staff & very helpful. Love the property, interior design, and the best dormitory ever. I just found a budget accomodation with luxurious & stars hotel standard service. I love Utrecht & Bunk !

The staff were very friendly and helpful. But if you are old or disabled please don't stay here the rooms are very small and if you have a spouse they will need to crawl over you to get to the bathroom at night. I was so happy to leave this hotel because I was looking forward to a normal size room.

It was a very cozy experience, the bunk was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was clean, showers were great. The staff were very friendly and the city is amazing.

The restaurant was fantastic!

Totally my fault, but I put in one day off. They were accommodating, but the price doubled. I kinda felt duped.

What a great find. An amazing conversion of an old church which has resulted in a stylish, spacious bar and restaurant area. The room is compact (as advertised) but contained all we needed. The bed was really comfortable and the aircon worked efficiently. The pre booked breakfast was excellent and good value. We walked around the pretty canals and found a lovely vegetarian restaurant for dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I didn’t want to leave! It was fairly quiet on the 3rd floor even with a lively bar downstairs. But even with some noise it quieted down in the evening (I sometimes sleep with earplugs in and I didn’t have to unless I fell asleep in the afternoon)

Great budget choice

Well located hotel, well presented and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but well designed to maximize useful space (eg high beds so luggage can be stored under with lighting under bed) and are comfortable. While the hotel has elevators some rooms require lifting luggage up stairs.

Great stay at BUNK in Utrecht...a former church renovated into a hotel / restaurant / coworking space. Friendly staff, clean modern room and the opportunity to make friends. Highly recommended

Wow! Architecturally and design wise the place is worth a visit. Clean, modern, generally friendly - delightful chat with Kuni over breakfast one morning. She filled me in on the church conversion. If you're getting a bunk and have any sort of mobility issues, be sure to ask for a lower bunk. Although I managed to clamber in and out of my second tier bunk, it's not necessarily for everyone. Location is superb. Breakfast is pricey but so is everything else in the Netherlands, as I learned.

We were put on the top bunk and a little difficult getting up and down. There were people that were not quite. Woke us up several times during the night.
