There was no airport shuttle. We had to use uber.

Room was clean, WiFi strong, and checkin/checkout smooth. However * Staff’s English ability was limited. My Spanish was better than their English. * Only a bath towel was provided for each person — no floor towel, hand towel, or face towel. * Neighborhood was not very interesting. Need to walk to old town for most sights and shopping. * Didn’t understand why someone needed to unlock the front door for you when entering or exiting. Maybe better security but a lot of inconvenience. * Locking door knob did not seem as secure as a deadbolt.

All went well. Have coin ready to tip. Staff very helpful. For the price you can’t beat it.

The staff were exceptional! They were very helpful and considerate and even set up a small early breakfast for us because we were leaving right before breakfast was officially open. Very sweet people!

The room was great for our needs. No hangers, no safe in room, if there is a way to control the temperature, never did locate it. The bed was comfortable, as well as the pillows and blankets. The bathroom was large with a walk-in shower. The property offers a free continental style breakfast. There is also a restaurant on site for other meals. The is a convenience store on site for snacks and water. It is within walking distance of some of the tourist destinations such as Plaza de Armas and the train station/san pedro market. We would stay again if in the area.

Friendly and helpful staff

I definitely recommend this hotel. The service was excellent, the customer service was the best, delicious food. I can’t wait to come back!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast included. But facility is a bit old, hot water is very small, bathroom needs big improvement. Towel looks old and not clean, hard to use.

Stay here if you just need a room. Very plain and not at all fancy. Staff are friendly, but condition of the place is really just very ok. Like many hotels in the region, we had issues with not having hot water at first, but hotel did help "fix" the problem so we got luke warm water.

This is an older hotel run by a family. It is in the quieter area about 3 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The rooms are quite small and the bathroom is also small and very basic. Our biggest concern was the lack of water pressure and that we had to wait for the warm water to run - sometimes with 10 minutes wait. The breakfast was very standard here and you had constant access to the dining room where you could get tea or just hot water. This was not a bad stay, it fairly decent, but there are other, better options. We did enjoy the fact that it was very quiet here, but if walking to the main attractions is not your thing, than this place is not a good fit.

The people at sol del oriente are some of the kindest staff ive ever met. They were super punctual and always happy to lend a helping hand. Big shoutout to darlene and juan-carlos for their hospitality! The only cons I have are of the room, the rooms are definitely showing ageing and water pressure and water temperature were an issue. However, at the end of the day, the room was still fairly comfortable and very affordable. Absolutely amazing proximity to wanchaq station.

This place is excellent for the price. The staff are great and very helpful, although english is limited. Thats where google translate comes in handy. There is breakfast every morning which consists of eggs, bread, slices of cheese, cold cuts, fruit salad and yogurt with cereal. I liked that I could leave my bags after checkout and pick them up later in the day. The room was clean. I had the room facing the street and could hear cars or dogs barking at night but it didnt stop me from sleeping. Like I said at the beginning, the price is so low that you have to overlook certain things you may expect at a higher priced hotel but all the basics are there. Would stay again
