Great place to stay while exploring el valle. Daniel was very helpful. I had a car, but he was always helping drive others that didnt have one.

Ariel and his dog Musica are wonderful hosts. Arial took the time to drive us around the town. Located next to a bubbling brook, his place is creatively decorated and has a lot of open spaces to relax. It is within walking distance from the start of the La India Dormida trail. We stayed with Ariel for one night. If felt more like we were visiting a friend than a business.

The property is overall tidy with a large, covered terrace and a garden. The owner treated me as a friend giving me good advice and any possible assistance, for instance bicycles are available free of charge. He keeps a friendly dog welcoming every guest without any harm. The house is located beside a stream of fresh mountain water. I'd like to come again.

Extremely friendly and caring host, who was immensely helpful and went well above and beyond what one could reasonably expect. Beautiful property, very nice outdoor area with a creek. Felt very safe and the local community was very friendly. Very comfortable bed. The only inconveniences were a couple internet outages and some moth flies in the bathroom, but these are the sort of things I expect at this price point and did not at all detract from the wonderful time I had there! PS I found the shower temperature controls a little bit confusing but maybe I was just being dumb. To get hot water, just turn the dial a little bit. You will get a strong stream of hot water. Turning it all the way gives cold water. The temperature settings(?) on the showerhead are independent and shouldn't be touched. Don't trick yourself into taking a cold shower like I did!

a walkable distance to town but maybe far for some ... very close to indio trailhead. taxis snd busses seem to run by frequently if needed. don was very accommodating and helpful. his dog, music, makes it worth the stay! i wish it was a bit cleaner.

This place is rustic but the host is so welcoming and it's well located a few minutes from the start of a popular hike. You can use bikes for free to get into the town centre. Communal kitchen is a bit cluttered but handy and has everything you need. Musica the Golden Retriever might just be the best dog in the world!

Ariel is a very kind and helpful host , we enjoyed his hospitality and the outdoor spaces lounge indoor and outdoor are very spacious. We would have used the free bicycles but didn't have time.

Mr Ariel (or Don Daniel) is super friendly willing to make us feel at home. The place is not fancy but very cozy. We'll be back for sure soon

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was one of the highlights of our time in Panama. Ariel was so friendly; he made us feel like family. He’s also a true musician. After hiking, we very much enjoyed our evenings talking and playing music together. He gave us bikes to ride and drove us around town. We also enjoyed spending time with musica and gato (his friendly dog and cat). We spent some time lounging on the hammocks enjoying the breeze as my wife read one of the many books outside. The room was as shown in the picture, basic but clean. If you are looking to stay at a unique place with a host who is authentically hospitable, listen to (jam with) a great musician, and want to learn about life in Panama, I highly recommend La Casita De Don Daniel.

The location and property is great with really friendly and attentive staff. I wish I had nothing but positive comments to leave but there we're a couple of issue. The first is sort of minor, they had some really silly rules. No coolers allowed, I didn't even have a cooler but I never heard of a hotel prohibiting coolers. The second, no shoes inside the room. Since when does a hotel tell me I can't wear shoes into the room? As for my main issue, I left with countless insect bites after sleeping in one of the rooms. I cannot tell if they are mosquitoes or bed bugs but my legs and arms are covered with them.

The hosts are wonderful! The property is set on a lovely lot with a creek running through the back. It is quite rustic, but comfortable. If you are looking for friendly low cost accommodation this place is great, if you are looking for somewhere that is fancy, this is definitely not the place for you.

Great hostel to stay at with beautiful relaxing areas with hammocks near a creek. Ariel and Jeannie were very nice hosts and made us feel comfortable at all times. They gave recommendations on what to eat and where to go. They even gave us rides a few times. They were welcoming and we were able to listen and join in some of their music and playing of instruments. I even got a massage and it can put you to sleep after a long day. The hike for la india dormida was only a couple minutes from here. Highly recommend
