Nice, clean hotel. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Extremely friendly service !

Absolutely enjoyed 10 days on this historic property! The property is adjacent to the fortress and the hotel is a converted Soldiers barracks. A sense of tranquility and peacefulness surrounds you when you walk around the property. The property is well maintained and oversees the city of Halden. The staff made my family feel like home. The staff were professional and kind; they made us feel welcomed. The staff checked on our family when we were off the property for over 24 hours to ensure we were ok and safe. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious with an array of local, organic, cold and hot items. The dining area is clean and have the best lasagna on their dinner menu. We plan to return to Norway and plan to return to the Fredriksten!

Old military college and dormitory

Very friendly staff, fascinating history, comfortable facility. The only change I would suggest is that the electric vehicle charging stations should include a type 3 charging cord which would allow rental cars to use them. (Rentals do not come with anything other than the most basic cord for home use - type 2.)

Great hotel near the Fredriksten festning. Breakfast was very good and the room had plenty of space. Free wifi is included. Parking was a little crowded, but nice that they provide a parking lot for guests.

Nice hotel located outside the city on the hillside, a fair 15 mins walk to city. Very nice and quite hotel atmosphere, with a spectacular view. Poor internet and TV reception, however hotel personnel well above average making the stay and breakfast at high class. Hotel located near the old fortress which is a must to visit. The hotel it self is an old military building.

It was my first time at Fredriksten, and I am completely satistisfied. It lies in the picturesque area and you can sit outside and enjoy the view with your cup of coffee. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Room were clean. Worth revisiting!

It has an amazing location just next to the old castle of Frederiksten. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. All precautions were taken in this time of Corona. Breakfast super. Just very good and not overly expensive

The hotel is located outside of Halden. Loads of parking. Front desk staff and breakfast staff are excellent.

Very comfortable, bit remote from town. Menu options in restaurant are not so much, but food was OK. Not so lucky with a firealarm at 06.30.

Free wifi throughout the hotel but it required a full log in every time it was used, a real inconvenience, room was large and spotless but cleaning service was not as expected, used coffee cups not replaced or washed etc.

The hotel and the staff were really nice, the breakfast was excellent. Free, good wi-fi and the possibility of casting streaming services on tv from your mobile. Another plus was the free parking and the view. We got a room at the 3rd floor, we could see the whole town beneath us all covered in snow in the morning - it was truly beautiful. :-) we certainly will go back during spring/summer .

Nydelig beliggenhet, store og fine rom.

Små rom m 2 senger m veldig myke madrasser. Vanskelig å bruke baderom. Jeg bruker rullator ( skrev d)og trinn opp ditt var vond. Toalett lav og lite plass å kunne bruke hjelpemiddel. Frokost - kald bacon middels varm mat. Ellers «vanlig tilbud» dog fint nær mat.

Trevlig personal

Nydelig utsikt, gode seng, meget bra frokost. Rolig og lun atmosfære. Litt trekk for renhold og flekkete møbler.

Frokosten var helt topp. Mye økologisk og lokal mat. Rommet var stort. Sengene var litt myke for min smak. Men ellers helt topp opphold
