Stunning location. Great hospitality. Hotel is classically decorated. Rooms were very clean and the beds super comfy. Not as modern as some hotels but plenty of facilities. Evening dinner was lovely we had the set menu and the choices for breakfast are great. Would stay again.

A lovely hotel in the forest. Large rooms for the price, very well cooked food in restaurant. Good breakfasting also. Scrambled eggs are good considering its a ban-marie. Coffe is good. Altogether a very pleasant stay and good for health freaks (I suppose but I am not one of them) clean gym, okay indoor pool and a sauna, which needs to pump up the heat to a hotter temp, but okay if you have time to sit in it and wait for your body to heat up. Nice staff.

Very nice and classic.

It’s a lovely old hotel in a beautiful location, however despite lots of rooms with balconies overlooking the forest, I was bundled into a back room overlooking the store shed and a steep bank with no view or much sunlight. I guess this is as a result of booking through Hotels.com and not booking directly with the hotel. It’s happened on too many occasions for it to be a coincidence.

Nice peaceful hotel , ideal stop off on our return from Austria to Ijmuiden ferry. Particularly enjoyed the pool and spa.

Quiet with a babbling brook as background noise. Serene! But go there to relax - and not for things to do other than, perhaps, use the indoor pool.

If driving south this hotel is about 7 hours from the channel. It is exceptional value in the old German style, lots of wood and antlers on the wall. It is popular with Germans and in a hilly wooded area popular with walkers. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The spa is small, sauna x 2 and small steam room as well as a reasonable pool. Ample free parking but steep hill to lower car park. Dog friendly. Breakfast was splendid hot and cold buffet and I ate in the evening - very good food. Reception staff speak English but I would say this is primarily a German tourist hotel.

Beautiful location, lovely bright room with balcony. Nicely appointed. I liked the fact that the waitress wore traditional German dress at breakfast. Food at breakfast was good, my dinner was a bit stodgy. Staff very friendly.

Lovely typical German hotel in the heart of the Black Forest. Secluded, not much around within walking distance. Rooms are adequate, although try and book one not backing onto the road.

A warm, cozy, home away from home in the middle of the Black Forest. We enjoyed great food, a clean comfortable room, and a peaceful, quiet night's rest. This was an unexpected find but hope others will seek it out and spend time there.

Nice Hotel for holidays but not for business. Too far from everything.

Rooms are simple more of 3, However if you want to get away this place is great with excellent food (Obviously S. German)

This is a great hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has very good food, however, the wait staff is overburdened . Iwe ate their 2 evenings and had extremely long waits for service and between courses. A better restaurant is just down the hilll a short walk from the hotel. Not a fancy, but very good food and extremely friendly staff. Less expensive, far better service and quality food. Fabio the bartender at Monchs is a great person and was courteous, helpful and a pleasure to speak with.

A hotel without a heart. The only hotel I know that reserves tables for clients at breakfast.

We stayed the weekend in this remote hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff was wonderful except for a couple of the wait staff in the restaurant. Although remote the hotel was within 15-20 minutes of several small towns. Would definitely come again for a weekend retreat.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel - friendly staff, an excellent restaurant and a clean, comfortable rooms - albeit quite small. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food and the service in the restaurant.
