We had a beautiful time at Cananvalle. The staff are very attentive and friendly. It is a place quite a bit outside Ibarra and without transport you have to rely on taxis to get around. Saying that the local taxis are cheap and safe.

Excellent breakfast, beautiful landscape, great place for coffee lovers and folks looking for a getaway in Northern Ecuador.

Google maps is off, by a bit. Strongly recommend double checking your reservation as they never received ours via Expedia. Property is very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed dinner (from town) and wine on our front patio in the early evening. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommend for a quiet retreat. Be sure to walk the entire property to fully appreciate this place!

Definitely one of the most beautiful places to stay in Ibarra. It is located in the countryside, just 5 min drive from downtown Ibarra, with unique views. Doreen and Carlos are excellent hosts and gave us lots of tips for travelling around. Breakfast is delicious, everything is fresh and organic from their own gardens. HIghly recommended for travellers who wish to experience the real Ecuador.

Bird watching during breakfast, specially hummingbirds, is a treat. Also I really liked the convenience of being able to have a good dinner at the hotel. Food was well prepared.

Close proximity to Quito ... lots to do and see in Ibarra. Lots to see on the way as well.

I personally dislike cold places, we stayed first on Hosteria Estelita, and although it has a nice view I could not sleep because place is on the mountain and is super cold, but Hysteria Canavalle is located in a place with a great temperature

OUTSTANDING! This was a perfect place for our stay in Ecuador. We were interested in educating ourselves more about the Ecuadorian culture, the environment, the lifestyle and the future of this community. Carlos and Doreen are wonderful hosts, (they both speak English and Spanish) but they also are educators for their guests and their community. The facilities are the cleanest we have stayed in, consistent on demand hot water, wonderful continental breakfast, large rooms, quiet environment, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful views of the surrounding mountains, family oriented (games, soccer, badminton, lamas, horses ) and owners that will assist you with arranging local attractions.

The owners are wonderful and the home cooking was delicious. The place is nicely tucked away from the town and was just a pure pleasure to be there amongst nature in an Eco-friendly resort.
