Staff at the reception are not friendly at all,, starting from their manager I think his name is Hassan from Turkey

a great beautiful property with a big time staff problem - not sure this a widespread Oman issue - it could be but i didnt try any other hotels in Oman, so i dont really know. There is a staggering difference in staff professionalism and client awareness from the MO Oman and the MO Abu Dhabi - which i assign solely to the blatant lack of training of most of the staff - not that they didnt try to do the best they could at all times, which they did, and we have to be grateful for it, but the blunders are widespread at all levels of the hotel. Also the Oman property had clearly less space to develop than others that have been there for many years and as a result the whole place feels crammed into a nudge of available land - the residencies section getting more of space then the hotel itself (this was clearly a business decision that will come back to bite them. MO needs to look at this property with concern, provide more training and conduct a detailed investigation at how all sections of the hotel are working, My suggestion: try other larger older properties in the immediate neighborhood (they have the Intercon and the W nearby) or go for the Grand Dame of Oman - yes older but still has it... The Chedi. Dear Mandarin Oriental: your Oman property is going to lag behind if you dont fix it

Stayed for four nights. Superb hotel with some truly delightful staff. Great location. Overall very impressed and will recommend to others.

Excellent in in a great central position on Qurum beach, with easy walks to the local restaurants in the Waterfront and towards the Opera House. Excellent staff and lovely meals.

The Suite we had was excellent. The Premium Lounge was not good.

Absolutely outstanding hotel in terms of service, hospitality and professionalism. A special shoutout to the valet team, Zen and Hsham for caring for me while I was ill. Your care and attention meant so much to me, especially as a solo traveller and it will never be forgotten! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay :)

Excellent location and atmosphere!

Loved every single second of our stay

Zacharia in the Concierge Service was amazing and arranged so much for us including a very long transfer to the hotel with sightseeing enroute. Sheryl, Customer relations Manager was also a delight. Overall, wonderful place to stay.

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was exceptional — it’s a special hotel that perfectly combines understated luxury with genuine warmth. The rooms are stunning — beautifully designed, with the most comfortable beds and lovely products. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the pool area was gorgeous — spacious cabanas (which are free to use!) and very attentive service, with staff always quick to bring water and towels. The gym was excellent too — high-spec machines, cold towels and water on hand, everything you could want. The spa area is nice with lovely changing rooms and a steam room but it could make even better use of the space with perhaps some wellness activities like yoga in future. We had access to the Club Lounge from our second night, which was a real highlight. Afternoon tea was a lovely way to unwind from the sun, and the cocktails between 5–7 were fabulous. The service here — and throughout the hotel — was truly standout. A particularly special touch was the way the team recognised my mum’s retirement — with a beautiful card, cake, and a lovely arrangement of dates and figs. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the staff went out of their way to congratulate her on this milestone. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories — thank you to everyone at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat for such an unforgettable stay. We can’t wait to return.

Outstanding hotel.

Room was dirty consistently. Had ants and on multiple occasions housekeeping was told. Room door broke. Throughly not impressed

Everything about the hotel, its facilities and location were exceptional, but we have to mention the friendliness of the hotel staff. Every member of staff we dealt with could not do enough to make our stay extra special. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Muscat.

Everything from rooms, pool, spa, resto are top notch. Relaxing atmosphere, ocean views.

A little over priced but friendly people

I recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was impeccable, but what truly made my holiday special was the outstanding service from the team. Maryam and Sarah Jane made every breakfast a delight with their warmth and attention to detail. By the pool, Humprey went above and beyond to ensure we were always comfortable and well looked after.
