My stay started with confusing communications from the front desk at the outset of the stay. I messaged them in advance to say I was landing early and to see if I could check in early - they sent me a pre-canned message that made it sound like it was first come first serve for early check in. I found out after my 10 hours of travel overnight + traffic in Barcelona that rules are rules and that checking in early is never a possibility, and how dare I assume otherwise. After weeks and weeks of nonstop travel for work and arriving to Barcelona at 7am (the only nonstop from NYC on my airline), I was told I couldn’t check in until 3pm and that the bathroom was down the hall. If I had known this in advance I would have made other plans and done my accommodation differently. I tried to ask the question in advance and basically a human with a copy and paste button responded, it was incredibly disrespectful and not what I would expect of those in hospitality.
Not to mention I was given a room in the nosiest part of the building…sandwiched between an elevator, the cleaning staff area and across from construction. The room was clean but it wasn’t worth the money in my opinion. There are more thoughtful, better places to stay in Barcelona.
Overall really displeased with my experience and won’t be coming back.
