I took ages to get a cup for coffee. Only 2 pieces of bacon left and had to ask for bread for toast. Bacon is the only option of hot food

The only let down to this location is the issue with parking. The hotel parking was full, the suggested nearby car park was not processing Apple Pay and there were no machines for manual payment. I had to abandon the car on the street (very few spaces as all resident bays until 11pm) and hope for the best so I arrived tired, very hot and bothered and quite grumpy. Receptionist was so friendly however that I soon found myself smiling and on arriving in the room the ac had been set to full (we are in a heatwave) so I immediately cooled down. The shower was nice and powerful and bathroom very clean. The room is basic but clean, comfortable and most importantly cool (did I mention the heatwave!) so I had a great nights sleep. It’s fine for one person but might feel a bit snug for 2 as the window was covered and sealed so you felt like you were in a sort of ‘pod’. There is no desk or separate working area so you have to spread out on the bed, which again, perfectly fine for one person overnight. Lots of plugs and usb points available. The included breakfast was plentiful and good quality. There is no kettle in the room so the fact that breakfast starts from 6.30 even on a Sunday was appreciated.

A good budget option, but the parking options were woeful. I drove around for far too long trying to find somewhere to park that was open 24 hours. The hotel’s parking only catered for an handful of cars. Eventually found that there was parking at the station, though the signs outside this car park were confusing.

The room was smelly, no table or anything to keep your stuff on, simply just a bed in the room. Main thing, when I went for breakfast at 9:30am, there was no bread left at all and the lady handling the area was like it’ll take 20-30 minutes in the oven and asked if I wanted her to do that? I said no out of embarrassment. Then there were no glasses for the juice or mugs for the coffee, basically no breakfast.

We got roughly what we paid for :-) The room was exceptionally small and the breakfast wasn't great. The pancake machine was broken.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Mahesh on reception was extremely rude on arrival. I had questions regarding why the charge for parking was not mentioned on the booking. he told me "yeah yeah, you must pay for it now, or just leave". When I asked if there was a cheaper option for parking he told me no. However this chat says there is an agreement with Sheppard Street Car Park. Mahesh made it sound like if I didn't park in the corner of your carpark on hatched yellow lines, then I wouldn't be able to stay. After being rude to me, I asked him to write his name on the card that the room key is in, he really didn't like this at all. He pointed to the lift and told me "on the first floor". No directions, no verbal communication of my room number. Just absolute rudeness and dismissal of me. Another customer was waiting for him to sort something out, and she just stood there shaking head saying she wished she could stay somewhere else tonight. Mahesh is clearly making customers feel awkward, unwanted, and as if we do not matter at all. I will never stay at an Ibis again, because of this experience.

The bed was comfy (personal preference) but the room had a smell that didn’t leave even though I left the window open during day 2 of my stay. I had to ask reception for an air freshener. Good parking offered with discounted rates
