An interesting, historic property with amazing views over the city. Everything one needs, but the upstairs rooms are more suited to the younger or able bodied. Hard to get parts of the room warm. Need to supply a map and information about parking. One can park along Law Street, once you negotiate the one way streets and find the backway into it, which isn't easy in dark, even with GPS.

A bed & breakfast with at least 9 rooms but only off street parking for 3 cars. On street parking limited to 2 hours in the day. Electric arrangements in the dining room meant that the only way to get the toaster to complete was to turn off the water heater.

We stayed 2 nights. The room was clean, but a bit small. To be fair, we were meant to be in an upstairs room, but between the fact that we are in our 70's, and we had two biggish suitcases, and the stairs were quite steep, we were offered our room as an alternative. Hillview House is an easy walk into the CBD - there are plenty of places to get dinner, but it's uphill all the way back.

Have stayed previously at 6 other places in Launceston. I rate this as the best. Clean, safe ,close to CBD ,lovely brekkie with city view. Superb and friendly staff. I will return. Amenities abundant in room with biscuits for a cuppa.A wall heater to combat water chills. Don’t miss it!

Very nice place that has kept its old charm with rooms reminding me of fawlty towers era. Quiet hardly heard a person or traffic, our room was spacious, breakfast was basic with not much variety but does the job for a night or two (any more ild get bored of it). Questions over the internet answered quickly and lady apologetic about her english but she spoke well enough to get by. Not for those lacking fitness as its a few hundred metres up a hill from the city and shops Ild definitely recommend it and would have no problems staying there again.

They said breakfast, they should not call it breakfast, it should be called jam and or Vegemite on toast, they had no eggs no cheese just toast jam Vegemite, corn flakes and cereal I know why they do that because there’s not much around to get! All other places probably same or worse in Launceston are triple the the price! And when you are downstairs like I was you can here this on the second floor walking on the wooden floor and it’s not sound proof so noisy that’s why they had ear plugs I wouldn’t go back I rather sleep in my hire car next time
